Working the voting machine they have down there now is hell, if the website with the device is accurate, as to how it works. You need to turn a dial to select the box to punch. To do a write in, you need to turn the dial to the write in box, and then turn the dial across an array of the 26 letters, until you hit the right letter, enter it, and then do it all over again to input the next letter, and then again, and again, and again. If that is in fact how it works, I think it close to game over for the Pubbies this year in TX -22. (Whoever selected this machine must have been in a mind altered state at the time., or on the take, or something.) Folks just are not going to spend the time to play with it unless very motivated, and figure out the two step of hitting the write in box, and then inputting letters one letter at at time, using a cumbersome dial. I think antiguv posted the link to the place where you can play with the voting device on line.

Here is the link to the Rube Goldberg instant insanity voting toy. Have fun. It will take you about ten minutes minimum, maybe more, to vote fo the "Sekula-Gibbs," and by the end you will be quite irritable.

You're right. It will take way too much trouble to write in Sekula-Gibbs with this machine.

And I'm not sure I really care unless it's the deciding vote on who controls the House. I wouldn't even vote for her in a primary race given reasonable alternatives.

Lampson will steal this District for the Dems in all likelihood and will be resoundingly kicked out of office in 2008. It's a travesty, but there's not much that we can do about it now.

I love it when people underestimate Republican resolve.

I think the right to have a two Party system is enough motivation for Republican voters to figure out how to use the write-in.

We are not Democrats and we do not want Democrats leading our District.
