Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani joined Sen. Santorum in Montgomery County today at a special rally with first responders and supporters to express his support for Senator Rick Santorum as he campaigns for reelection to the U.S. Senate.
At the event, Giuliani and Sen. Santorum discussed national security and the importance of keeping strong, experienced leaders in the U.S. Senate. Mayor Giuliani said, "I am pleased to be here today to support Rick Santorum. I have known Senator Santorum for some time, and have always been impressed with his integrity, candor, and commitment to getting the job done. We live in difficult times and now more than ever, we must keep strong and steady leaders in the Senate. Leaders who take positions, and stick with them regardless of polls. Leaders who aren't afraid to speak the truth and tell it like it is. We need more leaders like Rick Santorum.
"Experience matters and commitment to our nation's future matters. And Rick Santorum is dedicated to these principles. On the critical national security issues that our nation is facing -- keeping our homeland safe and the War in Iraq -- Rick Santorum is the right leader representing Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate."
Sen. Santorum said, "It is a great privilege to share a stage with Mayor Giuliani, as I know that each of us in this room admire the Mayor's leadership. He demonstrated the strength that was so important to helping a wounded country heal.
"The security of this country is a top priority for me. The federal government has a responsibility to protect its people, and I have and will continue to support policies that give our nation the tools to prevail against the most dangerous of enemies. I am working now to pass the Iran Freedom and Support Act, which would foster democratic change inside the Islamic Republic of Iran. I am also committed to the public release of millions of documents recovered in Iraq and Afghanistan, helping Americans better understand our efforts there. Furthermore, I will continue to work so that first responders in Pennsylvania and across the nation are equipped with the tools to ensure the safety and security of Pennsylvanians in times of need."

Why hasn't he been speaking out about issues these last few years? So he can coast on into re-election?
Coast? You're apparently not paying attention. Which might explain why you think Santorum's not been speaking out.
BTTT for Rick.
The democrats have zeroed in on Rick's seat.
He has a target on him, as you say, but I pray he will survive! It will not be easy. There are very difficult times ahead.
Pray and work for his reelection!
I'm there. He's a good friend.
Thanks for your note.
You're very welcome ......... I gotta get out with the plants again ......... see younz (Pittsburghese) later.
Pittsburgh? I have a FReepmail question for you.
I've noticed something in the polls of late. It looks like Republican Senate Canidates are starting to rise. I think it is possible the GOP will pick up a couple Democrat seats. I suppose we'll have to put off the Democrat revolution for a few more years.
What about immigration Rick, where do you stand?
My name's not Rick, but thanks.
Rick Santorum is a great conservative and should have the undivided support of all conservatives but I've argued myself blue in the face with a couple fo PA Freepers who just hate the guy because he supported Specter. Talk about cutting off your nocse to spite your face!
Yep. If Pat Toomey doesn't hold a grudge, then it kind of weakens that argument.
