Hadn't thought of that...
George Allen REALLY is a good guy, isn't he???
I still think an Allen/Rice ticket in 2008 would blow the democRATS away!!
Either the people in Virginia have far too much money to waste, or they like giving it to the State. :-)
To quote my daughter -- he is AWESOME!
I agree with your daughter. He is awesome. I see parts of Ronald Reagan in George Allen, and I see a LOT of George W. Bush in him too.
And both of those are GOOD things. VERY good!!
Kilgore cashing in on Bush fundraiser
By Christina Bellantoni
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
August 3, 2005
Virginia Republican gubernatorial nominee Jerry W. Kilgore, who raised $2.1 million at a recent fundraiser headlining President Bush, is using video footage from the event on his Web site to raise even more cash for the November election.
"I strongly endorse the candidacy of Jerry Kilgore because he is a down-to-earth fellow, who holds dear the values of Virginia," Mr. Bush said at the July 21 fundraiser, as shown on the video. "He's not going to change his values when he gets to be your governor. He will hold them close to his heart."
Mr. Bush appeared at the private dinner hosted by real estate developer Dwight Schar of McLean. About 100 attended, each donating between $15,000 and $100,000.
The Web site, www.jerrykilgore.com, features the video of the remarks Mr. Bush made before dinner and footage of Mr. Bush walking with Mr. Kilgore.

I agree with you -- he is a lot like Reagan and Bush #43 which makes me extremely happy to support George Allen. I went into the Convention expecting to like him as a speaker and potential candidate but I didn't expect to come away so impressed.

WASHINGTON -- With Congress on its August break and President Bush in Texas, Virginia Sen. George Allen arranged to meet Supreme Court nominee John G. Roberts Jr. yesterday -- and broke through the doldrums for news media attention.
The Richmond[Jeffy Schapiro]Times-Dispatch has now officially joined the ranks of such distinguished news organizations as The[Jayson Blair]New York Times and C[Dan Rather's]BS.
The Marrs letter went to his supporters. Pence's name would never have been public if not for Jeffy.
At the moment, Kilgore's voters are more committed than Kaine's. Among those most likely to vote, Kilgore leads 49% to 38%

Gays' faith in Allen curious
by Michael Paul Williams
You're in trouble when you're looking to U.S. Sen. George Allen to be the gay-friendly conscience of your party.
Michael Paul Whine-iams is slightly less credible than Jeffy Schapiro.
Journalists who covered event listed as donors to state GOP
...The names of Jeff E. Schapiro (listed erroneously as Jeffrey C. Schapiro) and Robert A. Brown (whose photo credit appears as Bob Brown), as well as other Virginia reporters who attended the event in New York, are included in reports filed with the Federal Election Commission because they paid for their travel and hotel accommodations through the state GOP.

TAG Teaming
Editorial
It's hard to argue with Jerry Kilgore's proposal to increase the tuition assistance grants (TAGs) Virginia provides to students at the state's private colleges. The TAGs' value has slipped in recent years. Currently $2,500 per student, they once stood at nearly $2,900 -- at a time when tuitions were markedly lower. Kilgore would hike them to $4,000. But even with the increase they would constitute a bargain for the Commonwealth.

What a great line with my morning coffee :)
Corrected link:
I can't believe you are admitting to something like that...............it's absolute sacrilege.......I'm schocked, I tell you, shocked.
My 7 year old has been fishing for 3 years :)
Thank you kindly. I posted before the coffee was done.
Grew up in the mountains, never really interested in hunting. Still doesn't interest me. But I'd like to learn to fish (I even bought "fishing for dummies" he said sheepishly).
I don't golf either. Tried it. Not interested.
Still folks I grew up with wouldn't recognize me if they realized I drove a pickup and spend most of my free time working in my garden...
