Yes, you are.

Do you know them personally?

I've never received a coherent explanation for their opposition to Keyes. You're no exception.

Personally, I would love to see Obama go down in flames, but it ain't happening.

You previously said:

Then He better have the "legend" walk on Lake Michigan and soon, because Keyes is toast.

This looks like a contradiction to me.

Some.

I have explained my dislike for Keyes.

But, I will explain my dislike for Keyes one more time:

Alan Keyes is not serious about this campaign. He should not have accepted the offer if he was not serious. Any member of the Illinois GOP, chosen at random, could've come within 20 points of Obama. Keyes has managed to not meet that minimal level of performance. He is probably depressing GOP turnout, and that means trouble for the Bush campaign and down-ticket races. He's also made conservatism too radioactive for Illinois until 2025 or so.

We have enough incompetent fools out there in this world; please quit encouraging them.

TOTALLY.

Would you care to explain the grounds on which you base this slander?

The same grounds Aquinasfan had for his. Go ask him.

Gosh, that shoe starts to pinch when it's on the other foot, eh, mate?

I've been routinely slandered by the Keyes worshippers; I finally decided to return the favor. Life sucks, get a helmet.

Alan Keyes is not serious about this campaign.

What do you base this judgment on? No Republican, even a liberal RINO, had a chance of beating Obama. Keyes had the best chance of any Republican candidate since, if Obama had stuck to the original plan for 6 debates, he could have changed the hearts of Illinois voters.

Regardless, in what will most likely be a losing effort, Alan will advance the cause of conservatism better than any other candidate, particularly the conservative positions regarding such crucial issues as abortion and homosexual marriage.

My belief is that most of the anti-Keyes jackals here are afraid that Alan is going to take away their porn and dope, and that he won't let them kill their girlfriends' unborn babies. Am I wrong?

Yes. You're as goofy as Keyes. What the hell is the matter with you, making a statement like this? You'll destroy your reputation as a solid thinker for a nutburger like Keyes?

What do you base this judgment on?

Notaxforblax...trashing Dick Cheney's daughter...wanting to outlaw opinion polls...all kinds of stupid stuff like that.

No Republican, even a liberal RINO, had a chance of beating Obama.

We'll never know, since Elmer Gantry Keyes has FUBAR'd the entire GOP.

Keyes had the best chance of any Republican candidate since, if Obama had stuck to the original plan for 6 debates, he could have changed the hearts of Illinois voters.

And Keyes gave Obama a convenient means of canceling the debates--because nobody wants to debate a nutball.

How was this supposed to work again?

Regardless, in what will most likely be a losing effort, Alan will advance the cause of conservatism better than any other candidate, particularly the conservative positions regarding such crucial issues as abortion and homosexual marriage.

He's pretty much guaranteed that any conservative in Illinois will be tagged "NUTBALL" for the next 20 years.

Maybe giving liberals a free ride for 20 years is "advancing the cause of conservatism" in your brain, but here in the real world, it isn't.

This looks like a contradiction to me.

Really?

For some reason, I'll walk you through this.

The original poster said, "The Lord works in mysterious ways." In my reply, I placed the word legend in quotes, because I don't feel that Keyes has reached that status. That is no slam on Keyes. My qualifications for "legend" status may be a little more stringent than the original poster's.

I then went on to convey that the Lord had better quickly work a demonstrable miracle on Mr. Keyes' behalf because he is doing so poorly in this race that he does not have a legitimate chance to defeat Obama. Sorry, again, but "them's the facts". Just because the tone of my reply was not deadly serious, does not mean that I will "take joy" in Keyes' ultimate defeat.

It came across that way, but I'll remove you from the jackal list.

The anti-Keyes jackals appear on every Keyes thread to do nothing except mock Keyes and cite poll results showing Keyes trailing.

I know many of these people from my posting here for several years and many (most?) of them are libertine libertarians. The remainder are RINO's with a smattering of true conservatives.

I'm tired of them.

Keyes is going to get smacked down like every other election he has run in. Right now he'll be lucky if he gets 30%.

No, I'm saying he comes off as a nutball when he's running for office. There's a slight difference.

The word "Barack" is Swahili for "blessed."
