Point by point rebuttal to CBS news last assertion that the Bush memos are real
1st several methods were used to authenticate the documents. Handwriting experts were consulted, thats fine. They got to look at copies. I can copy a scanned signature very easily from anything I want and paste it to anything I want. The copy will look perfect which is why if you dont see the original you cant tell it is a fake.
The second method mentioned by Bill Glennon was proportional spacing, superscripts(as a custom feature), and proportional spacing between lines you could order that any way you liked. Okay, this was the National Guard were talking about here, just how common do you really think that was? Lets say for sake of argument that this guy actually had the only typewriter in the Guard that could do all these special things. That still leaves many other problems with these documents too numerous for me to go into. Go here for a detailed list.
Mr. Glennon goes on to say the lower case l could be reproduced on a laser printer these days. How laughable! Let me try here ( l8 ), gee that looks fine to me! Want to bet it prints fine too?
Okay next he says that a combination of the th the th would just be too hard on a computer these days. Well I did that last sentence without much trouble lets try a different way. The 1st and 2nd points have been debunked, I bet I can do the same with the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7 th, and so on! Yep that was simple too! All it to was me to press Ctrl + Z and it undoes the superscript, or if I put a space in it doesnt even do it automatically! Wow! I must be a computer wiz!
Now they say the content is consistent. Consistent with what? They say official documents they received show he was suspended on the same day as the memo shows. This point I would have to research more, Im not sure what the truth is there, maybe someone else can help me out there.
I would say all in all Dan Blathers last attempt is as lame as the rest to say the memos are real.

more of the same coming
Of course the memo and the official record show that same flight suspension date, the official record was publicly available to crib from.
I think Dan Blather will go down with the ship rather than reveal the source which would further embarass himself, CBS, the DNC, and Kerry.
You know they can just print up a new batch of memos to corroborate the first batch of memos...
We should add a new phrase to our vocabulary. Whenever someone (like the media) is making a false accusation, the response should be, "Are you pulling a Dan Rather on me?"
Why does the FreeRepublic block me from posting if they aren't in the Conservative Line of thought? "Your posting priviledges have been revoked" it says. I haven't said anything spitefull or inflamatory? Is it simply because I'm not a conservative that I'm not welcome on this board?
I really would like everyone to know why? Is this like Putin's idea of "Managed Democracy" or something?
