I thought businessman Tim Michels, who is similarly wealthy but has the additional advantages of being much younger and more socially conservative, would make a better general-election candidate. What are your reasons for supporting Darrow over Michels?

Well, I'm guessing you probably want someone a little less socially conservative in Wisconson.

That said, I don't really give a crap. It's nice to dream, but this seat isn't in play realistically.

The age is an interesting topic, one remembers Pres. Reagan's I won't use my opponents youth and inexperience comment. That really holds true here. Michels is too young and has no expereince in politics--expect that he ran against a sitting conservate State Senator a couple years ago and lost every town except his home town--that doesnt bode well for this race.
Darrow is just as conservative as Michels but speaking to the businessman side Darrow is the true businessman success story, Darrow started his own company.
Michels is not known throughout the state--there is no way he could beat Feingold.
Darrow has had dealerships in Milwaukee and Madison (the two liberal population centers) for over 30 years and has been very active in the community--he can sway some of those moderate liberal voters.
What is interesting is that people here in WI are trying to make Darrow seem like this old foggy but no one mentions that Michels has 3 children under 5--one would think that that would take a lot of time out of someone's life?
