The Democrats have lost their only candidate (so far) in the open 7th CD in Michigan, a swing district that only gave Bush 51% in 2000. Now, if we can only make sure that a conservative wins the GOP nomination instead of the pro-abortion, anti-gun RINO Joe Schwarz, we can put this one to bed (the Democrats have a chance if they run a social moderate-to-conservative and Schwarz get the GOP nomination).

This is bad. If 1 or no dems run, they may be apt to mess around and back Schwarz who is the 'most acceptable' of the GOP'ers running.
I expect a tougher dem to jump in now. Widner may have found out he was going to face a Spade or Schauer as well, and dropped out there.
