Does anyone in Russia think banning abortion after the 12th week of pregnancy will increase the birth rate?

The liberal Western media says "No" because they don't want Russia to prove that restricting abortion might solve Western Europe's declining population.

The Media says that it won't increase the birth rate because "90% of abortions in Russia are done before the 12th week of pregnancy". I believe that statement is false, because I believe I read that only 60% of abortions in Russia are performed before the 12th week of prgnancy.

I think this new restrictions on abortion could increase the Russian birth rate up from 1.3 million to 1.75 million births - at a minimum.

What do people in Russia think it will do to the birthrate?

Regards,

Did the Russian Government do any estimates when they were discussing this new law?

I think a 35% increase is quite possible.

RUSSIAN DEFENCE MINISTER: RUSSIA TO SUPPLY S-300 SYSTEMS TO BELARUS
It is unimportant, whether it will be lease or some other form of property transfer, the minister underlined. "The most important is that they /the systems/ will be put to ready alert," he said.

AFP - Oct. 28
Asked whether the former Cold War rival superpowers were now allies or enemies, the russian defense minister replied: "It's not entirely clear."

This is how this statement is to be interpreted from the point of view of the defense minister :

1. We warned, October 3, 2003 :
Either NATO steps back from the new positions at our borders (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kirghizia) or we will have to resort to a pre-emtptive strike

2. As long as we will not launch our attack (or NATO theirs) we are not entirely enemies.

Attacking a NATO country would be an extremely dumb thing for Russia to do, especially in its current condition.

Russia has an abundance of land, China has an abundance of people, and a shortage of land.

China will be the biggest future threat to Russia.

The Russians have nothing the west needs nor wants (After all, the Arabs are more despicable and have much more oil).
Our populations are shrinking, and we are rich. Russia is basically a very poor Mexico with nukes. Look at the pathetic Ukraine... the best arable land in the world, a huge country with over 50 million people, and European roots, yet they are poorer than China (based on REAL GDP per capita - not PPP). Russia is not much better for a nuclear armed nation. (2002 Russian GDP per capita = $2730 - right between Brazil and Argentina, actually less than half of Mexico's!)

I do not exaggerate either!!
Russian GDP per capita per year:        $2730.00
Mexican GDP per capita per year:      $6210.00
Brazilian GDP per capita per annum:   $2900.00
Argentine GDP per capita per annum: $2580.00

Ted Kennedy said this threat is, not imminent, a lie,and their is no proof. Instead, we should find OBL who is probably hiding in Hyannis Port.

"If I am not mistaken, slick willie was the FIRST American president to institute the NO FIRST STRIKE doctrine"

That was because for the first time in modern history no nuclear missles were aimed at children in the United States.

Well, thats what X42 said...........

Well, they can strike Germany or france and even Belgium any time they want, but they'd better leave Poland and the other 10 alone.

NATO SECRETARY GENERAL FAILS TO CONVINCE MOSCOW MOSCOW. (RIA Novosti military commentator Viktor Litovkin) The official visit of Nato Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer to Moscow failed to impress the Russian leadership, many experts believe. One reason for their scepticism is that, after their meeting, President Vladimir Putin and Jaap de Hoop Scheffer did not meet Kremlin-accredited reporters to answer their questions, which is unusual. Evidently, they had no optimistic statements to make, their colleagues decided, and they were probably not far off the mark.

NATO commander says Black Sea of strategic importance for enlarged alliance

Here are the signs that the script is NOW coming to an end :

Mr Saakashvili, president of Georgia, announced on TV that his forces were ready to sink shipping off Abkhazia.
Russia has peacekeeping forces in the rebel provinces "I earlier ordered... that we should immediately open fire on, and sink, every ship which enters Abkhazia," he said.
Speaking just days after a Georgian patrol boat fired shots at a civilian vessel in the Black Sea, he added that Russian tourists should "pay attention" to his words.
Russia, which has close ties to the Black Sea province, said it would respond to any attack on its citizens with "the necessary rebuff".
The waters have been out of Georgian control for more than a decade.

Babylon was destroyed in 539 B.C. by the Medo-Persians, the nation from the North. Just as Jeremiah had predicted it would be after serving God's purpose of punishing Judah for her sins. It was then judged for its own.

Babylon is also a symbol in the Bible of all Evil, whose King is Satan. Parts of Chapter 50 17-20 look to a time when the Messiah (JESUS) will rule and Israel will be restored, because those who seek foregiveness will be restored.
