Alot of search engines read the text on each page associated with a site and create indices based on the text they find there to be utilized when users enter search criteria. This is basically a way to cheat the search engine into including your site in all these categories. Nothing new about it, but some search engines make it clear that this practice is undesirable and that if a site is caught doing this , their ranking will be penalized.
