I visited a dead thread.
And when the thread is dead, the furniture comes to life.
It appears that I am safe for now.

Thanks. I actually had a few different
complaints about the poem. I changed
around four lines about three to five
times. I think I'm happy with it now. If
you like it, I guess I shouldn't complain.
I'm very flattered. It's another poem I
wrote at 4:30 in the morning. I guess I
write best when I should be sleeping instead.

I'm truly shocked by how much poetry I've
been writing since being invited to D.F.L.
I'm going to need a new notebook soon.

with living furniture on the wing
and nasty little grumbling things
flinging stuff to and fro
oh my goodness....
It's time to go!

Snippy has me stuck on haiku as well.

Laying in your arms,
your soft whispers make me melt.
Here I long to stay.

Provocative thoughts.
Life looks like a long journey.
But the end comes quick.

I only know the 5, 7, 5 rule though.I
never paid much attention to haiku in
school 'cause I could never do it before.
I was never inspired by the ones I read in
the classroom books. They made no sense.

Not sure this unpolished one is worth posting.
But here it goes:

This world of mine is very strange
A place of surreal extremes
Where this is only I can know
You wouldn't understand, if even told
This world of mine is different you see
Not a comfortable place for us to be
Where things we see may not be real
This world I see does not exist
And if it did it'd be a swirling mist
The only place I know to find it
It's a tiny place inside of me

Brown Eyes Blue?
Came up with it after hearing the band Bell Book & Candles' song "Rescue Me" Followed up by, of all things, Brother Cane's song "And Fools Shine On"....

Based off of the original song fragment I heard in a dream..
So I guess those odd songs that don't exist in real life that I hear in dreams are good for something!

of dragon tails
and pointy snails
of groaning gnomes
and homeless tomes
and boney bones
and horny toads!

Well, if I can follow them, I do. If not, I
do my own thing & write random stuff off the
top of my head, like the one about the barfly.
I'm best with rhymes, though I can do freeform
(I just don't like to). I can't do lyric poetry
though. I can't think of any other kinds...
