Speaking of proposing...my oldest sister left me a voice mail this morning, telling me to call her as soon as I could. Yikes! My first thought was that something terrible had happened, like my mother ill, something like that. Well, her long-time boyfriend (can you call him that when you're both over 50?) asked her to marry him! It's very good news. He's a great guy, and she has been divorced for 16 years now.

It WAS a relief. My heart was just pounding before I got ahold of her. Her voice gave nothing away, just the "call me as soon as you can". Oh my. Our mom is in her 70's, so one never knows.
