It was odd to me at the time, and I told someone later that day about it. Mom and dad have told me similar stories about such things with other folks in our family, several having seen will-o-wisps and such.

Oh, such an interesting snippet about the history of the home where you are living. !!!! An underground railway hideaway - wow!!!! Surely the "ghost" of the child that you have seen must be of a child who lived and died there....or perhaps the child was a patient of the doctors and the child died while in that house/doctor's office???

Perhaps there are family cemeteries nearby with gravesites of children in the family (as was common in so many of the past generations - so many gravesites of young children).

Well, you definitely have a "story" on your hands. Blessings to you both - and it would be a good idea to fill the house with prayer and praise - if you have leanings in that direction. If you have not had a "House Blessing" for your home - that would also be a good idea. That may be enough to calm the "ghosts" down but it won't send them away, I don't think. If they are not bothering you, fine. But if they do - I would not hesitate to move. Thanks for the info.

Well - unfortuntely - that is what I read about being often the case. It seems that when a person meets an untimely death - sometimes - the spirit of the dead person remains in or near the location where they died. I don't know why and I don't delve into the "spiritual" realm - outside of the Christian faith. HOWEVER - I do know the personal reports that have been given me of such events - the one by my nephew - cannot be disputed. He is not a liar. He also was not drunk (DOES NOT DRINK ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES)....and he is of very sound mind. This young man will always know he was visited by a genuine "ghost" or "spirit" of a dead man. No one will be able to convince him that such "things" cannot be.

Fortunately, he has not had the experience of your Aunt in that he has been able to revisit that same house without being bothered by the ghost - as long as he does not sleep in that basement bed!!!!! (He will NEVER do that again, I have been told).

By the way - did you read the stories here on FR of the "sightings" made of the "ghosts" of the passengers on Flight 93 near the crash site in Pennsylvania???? I'll try to find those stories.

I would love to read those stories if you find them. I find this stuff so interesting. My poor aunt seemed to have given hers more and more power by all the attention she gave it because she thought it was so "neat", for lack of a better word, that she had a ghost or spirit in her house. The more attention she paid to it, the worse it got. She has told stories of knives flying across the room at her which is what drove her to sleeping in her car. Apparently it didn't want her in it's house I guess. My parents have some stories too of a ghost in a bar they ran in their younger days. Supposedly you could hear it mixing itself a drink everynight after everyone went home. It never bothered anyone though. My grandmother also showed me a photo from the hotel pool where the same bar was of my older half brother. She insists he was in the pool alone when the picture was taken but there a lot of people around the pool in the picture itself. That was back in the 70s but the hotel and bar still operate (from the looks of it, fairly unchanged in appearance) and I've always been tempted to go there and ask around to see if there is still odd stuff that goes on. They would likely think I was crazy though so I never have done it.

The wife does all the decorating :) My room is the computer room, a couple servers, parts, books, boxes of photos - basically the only decorations I have are my computer backgrounds...The ghost stays out of my room, seems to hang around only where my daughter's stuff is located.

Yes these stories are interesting - and that's all to me. I do know there is a spiritual realm that we cannot see. There is no question about that. But, I will conclude this discussion by asserting - that while we know there are spirit beings - and that some of them are entities called demons - we know (or should know) that they are limited in power by the One who created the Universe, and that Jesus Christ is the One to whom all authority in heaven and on earth and under the earth has been given!!! It was Jesus Christ who spoke and commanded demons to leave their tormented "victims" and they instantly had to leave!!! He does the same today. In His Name, all oppression must cease and all oppressors must flee!

These resident "ghosts" are a reminder to me to always in all things be in prayer for those around me because we never know when it will be our last chance for pray for one in need or to speak to one who is hurting before they leave this life.

My grandfather died in his home (where I was living when I was a child). Yet there are no ghosts in that home - we had no visitations and nothing like what we have described. These things do not happen in all death cases. So what is the reason? Perhaps a poor soul had not been prayed for??? I don't know. My grandfather spent one hour each morning on a "morning watch" of prayer and scripture reading. When he left this world, his soul was at Peace with His Lord. May it be so for all of us whenever it is our time to go.

I found it! It was on my old windows, I put the pics on the page, the first two - one is high res (160k) and the other is low res (about 21k). I took the dining room photos off the index (but they are still there as d1.jpg-d4.jpg) so it loads faster. I have done more work on the photo (inverting, et al) to get a better grasp of the pic. Behind the couch is the bedroom and where you see what looks like a head is the bed. I can often look down the hall and see my daughter if she in bed watching TV. When we looked at this photo I thought at first that is who it was, but I realized they were in california at the time (as I mentioned I think I did not notice it until I scanned it in).

PS this pic is almost a year old, and we were still decorating than. The toy room is the very first room you see and has carpet, etc - and that is where her blues clues dog went weird on me (has never done it again either).

Wow - great house - again! For some reason, I can't see the "head" I see what looks like a doll shaped entity that is above the level of the bed with his two legs out towards the left and his arms towards the left and his tiny head turned towards the left. What am I missing? Can you circle the "head" on your picture and repost? I do see something there on the bed but just not a "head".....

Oh my! I just looked again. IT's an ORB!!! a Big Ball shaped entity, right? with the face slanted forward and down - sort of sideways? Most of those who trace these kinds of things - with utmost skepticism - take pictures of these little "orbs" of light. If what you took is the "picture" of this child ghost's "ORB" - you really should submit it to some of the people who do research in to this stuff.

What stuck out to me was the black shape above the couch, like a round head - I had made the bed previously for other pics I was taking with the digital to send to her mom (I am a bit of a slob when the wife is gone for 3 weeks, so I cleaned up before doing pics). I have looked back before and seen her sitting there just like that. Honestly I had not noticed the other things before - was too distracted.
