I want out of my apartment soon too. We've had 3 drive by shootings (no one actually got shot though) in the past month. One was even bright and early in the morning. A neighbor and I have sat and watched several drug deals right smack in front of our apartments recently as well. They don't even care that someone was watching either. The cops *never* catch these people either. We've been here for over a year and this stuff just started in the past few months. I'm afraid to leave my apartment after dark now and afraid to stand out front and chat with my neighbors anymore. There is absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop this stuff either because the road in front of us serves several apartment complexes so it can't be gated for just our use (not that that would help since some of these jerks are our neighbors.) There is one neighbor in particular that we've seen buying coke out of some guys trunk about 15 feet from my front door. We don't have the money to move anywhere though so we are stuck for a while. It would take about $1000 to break our lease plus the money to get into a new place.
