It will be soft and fluffy as to not humiliate the Crusty Beast.

What color will Baba's kneepads be?

Black or red?

Black in honor of Crusty and Shrillery's heart.

Or red for her commie-ness.

One thing's for sure...she'll be getting a botox treatment right before the interview.

I hope they come to Iowa for their Botox injections. We have a guy here who does it,,,, and you look like a Vulcan when he's done. Why on earth anyone wants that protrusion between their eyes is beyond me.

I rather doubt it,,, this guy is a big time Republcian. We were on a committee together and he offered me a complimentary 'shot'. I went to his office for the pre injection counseltation. He told me everyone in his office had had it done,,,,, that's when I noticed they all had this strange forehead.

I decided I'd rather look old.

Gag alert:
Democratic presidential candidate Dick Gephardt is picking up some Republican support--and a new son-in-law.

Construction company co-owner Neil Greenberg, a 35-year-old divorced father of two, is engaged to the Missouri congressman's 25-year-old daughter, Kate Gephardt. She's a pre-school teacher at the Manor Montessori School in Bethesda, where Greenberg's 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter have been students.

"I'm thrilled to be marrying Kate Gephardt," said GOP loyalist Greenberg, who in recent years has written $1,000 checks to the campaigns of Republicans George W. Bush, Connie Morella, Rick Lazio and Robert Ehrlich. "I'm still a Republican, but I believe Dick Gephardt is the best man for the job" of president."

A spokeswoman for thg candidate told us: "The Gephardts are extremely excited and are very, very happy for Kate and Neil."

Kate Gephardt confided that Neil proposed in early May after a whirlwind, two-month romance. "It's a beautiful ring," she told us. "We're planning a wedding next summer. We have no affirmative plans set yet, but it will be a small wedding." She added that they're living together in Bethesda.

"We talk politics a lot," she said. "We're actually very similar. But I'm not very political. He still thinks Bush is a good candidate, it's just now he's in support of my father." She added Greenberg will roll up his sleeves and help her dad raise money.

Good Morning! Great thread y'all! Mr. B's been hogging the 'puter the past couple of days.

Kate Gephardt confided that Neil proposed in early May after a whirlwind, two-month romance.

Hmmm, if I were Gephardt I'd be mighty suspicious of a republican that suddenly entered the family with a two-month whirlwind romance of his daughter and then a wedding proposal. Especially if I were running for prez.

I mean really, could a Gephardt spawn actually be so alluring that she could turn a pubbie into someone who believes Dick is a better choice than GWB?

All the Moose That's Fit to Print
The New York Times' big management scandal is taking on the qualities of an absurdist comedy. Publisher Arthur "Pinch" Sulzburger Jr., executive editor Howell Raines and managing editor Gerald Boyd held "a town-hall-style meeting of newsroom staff members yesterday," the Times reports. But not everyone was invited. Shut out was Jacques Steinberg, the reporter who wrote the Times' account of the meeting. A note atop his piece explains: "The Times meeting was closed to news coverage. As a result, Mr. Steinberg, The Times's media writer, did not attend it." He did, however, obtain "a recording made by someone in the audience," presumably an employee of the Times, and the Times published his account of the meeting based on that recording.

The Daily News, however, scooped the Times on one delightful detail that presumably didn't come through on the audiotape:

In a surreal moment that reminded one staffer of Shari Lewis' old TV show, Sulzberger produced a stuffed toy moose that he sometimes trots out as a symbol of open communication.

Its use struck some in the audience as a tone-deaf and patronizing gesture.

Sulzberger handed the moose to Raines, who laid it aside.

Hey Pinchy, watch me pull some "news" out of my hat!

Dang, I forgot to watch the eclipse of the moon last night!

Some ugly weather appeared yesterday and we're supposed to have more today. I hope your trip down here will be met with lots of sunshine.

Oh please let this be true, but only when the children are visiting grandma and grandpa.

From the Star:

It's come to my attention that the hot topic of discussion in the west Miami suburb that Simpson has called home for the past three years is that a smart aleck in a helicopter has been dropping golf balls by the bucketful onto his roof in the middle of the night!

Those who don't like the accused double murderer will be happy to know that golf balls dropped on a rooftop from several hundred feet high sound like machine-gun fire -- not pleasant at 4 a.m. [snip]

Court to Hear Suit Filed by Condit's Wife

May 15,11:35 PM ET

FRESNO, Calif. - A $10 million libel suit filed by former Rep. Gary Condit's wife against a supermarket tabloid is headed to court after lawyers failed to reach a settlement Thursday, the woman's attorney said.

Carolyn Condit sued the National Enquirer last year after it published headlines on its Web site and its Aug. 7, 2001, front page that said: "Cops: Condit's Wife Attacked Chandra."

Carolyn Condit said she never met slain intern Chandra Levy. Police in Washington, D.C., have said the report was false.

Levy's skeletal remains were found May 22 in a Washington park and her death was ruled a homicide.

Trial was set for Sept. 30. An after-hours call to the National Enquirer's office in Florida was not immediately returned Thursday night.

********************************************************

I thought I heard on Fox News that Gary wasn't living in California anymore.
