Oh no Darks!! I don't have the strength to run tonight...lol. ;-)
To: Kathleen
Naah, no running tonight.
We'll have a Dance fight, like in west side story!
*Ya, da da. .ta.. ta.. dah!*
*Falls over after tripping on his own left foot.*

Considering I couldn't dance to save my life, I think you win by default.

Ok, so maybe musicals aren't our strong suit. ;-) It sure is a funny thought in any event, tho.. How's the car situation going?
To: Kathleen
Car's sitting in a friend's driveway.
Awaiting repair.
My car, well.. it blew out it's dashlights on Saturday, then one came back today...
Hmmm...
Gotta tear my dash apart to fix it. Probably a loose wire.

Don't have the ambition to do that in the dark when it's cold.
I hate working on cars...

Ugh. Tearing up the dashboard is as bad as tearing up the engine...somehow it never quite goes back together again...
To: Kathleen
The dash on a Volkswagen is supposed to be easy to tear apart. I've never done that before, and the guy I know who did only says, "There's three screws."
(My Father, how helpful.)
I've only gotten the enviro control panel loose and out.
Next comes the facing plate, all two and a half feet.
Fun part comes once I get the thing open. I have to find out what's loose and fix it. (Wiring diagram!)

It shouldn't be too awful bad if it's a VW, Darks. I know someone who once rebuilt a VW engine on his kitchen table...lol. Maybe this won't be as bad as you think. ;-)
To: Kathleen
Naah. Won't be so bad. Just majorly frustrating if I have to do it on my own without the use of the brain of someone who's already done it before.
Oh, and VW has torque specs for almost every nut and screw in the darn thing.

I guess I am lucky in that it is a '90 Jetta.

Actually, I'm likely to break something if I don't have someone there who knows what they're looking at. I've only torn the dash apart on an '83 Audi 5000 Turbo diesel.
That was way too easy, and I found that the cruise control main switch and the rear defroster switch were swapped out. (Transposed.)
That was fun to find.
It was a nice car, just needed too much work for me to keep it.
Needed subframe bushings. That was all it needed. $1500 of hydraulic press work.
1500 I didn't have at the time.

Uh-oh. Some mechanical escapades should not be attempted without the advice of trained professionals, Darks. Methinks your situation falls into this category. But what do I know... :-(

Hi guys.. I'm sorry I"ve been AWOL, but I online shopped before supper, had supper, and just now finished shopping. I did pretty well..
Bought two rugs..one for the living room, and one for the entrance way.. a chair for the TV area, one of those cabinets that go behind the master bath toidy.. and a floor cabinet for the master bath.. Oh and a beautiful four panel screen to put near the TV.. To sort of hide the back.. and add some height to the area.. It has Egrets and a nice scene on it.
I almost talked myself into more..but will check second hand stores first.. My neck is broken now..
I loooove Home Decorators.. ;)
