Way to go, ksen! Handyman extraordinaire!

I've got those itty bitty sugar ants everywhere in my house. They are driving us nuts. You can't leave anything on the counter for more than a minute without them suckers climbing in. *shudder*

I have almost run out of Terro Ant Killer just trying to keep them under control. I told my mom that we should take part of the insurance money and have the house tented. It's never been tented, so why not?

A donut chain that has stock??

Hm. That's an interesting one.

I've never had Krispy Kreme donuts. All we have are Dunkin Donuts...magnificent coffee, not so good donuts.

No, nightcrawlers are good for the garden, good for fishin! They till up the earth, aerate and fertilize the soil. They are a beneficial.

Cutworms curl into a ball and sleep during the day, then come out at night and eat huge chunks of plants, esp. things like broccoli. Sometimes, with new seedlings, you can wake up in the morning to find your plant cut off at the base, just lying on the ground. Very disappointing! Putting a dixie cup around the base of your plant will help prevent that. They are a pest.

Oops...got mixed up. OK, so she'll actually have a little vacation while you're gone? Not a bad deal, right?

That's what we did before we replaced the bottom of the cabinet where our pipe leaked. I didn't see too much mold, but it had a mildewy smell...

Right around where the leak was the wood was all black, and there was the mildewy smell. The wood was still solid, but it was very black. Now it actually looks like wood again.

Before I put the new stuff back in I sprayed the wood with a coat of polyurethane to hopefully give it a bit more of a seal.

Doesn't that give you a nice warm fuzzy feeling?

It sure did. ;^)

Thank you for still pinging me...

Your welcome..... ;^)

Steve's trying to refinance our house. They'll have to inspect it again, I guess. Sigh.

Way to go, ksen! Handyman extraordinaire!

This is practically the first major handyman project that I've attempted. I was very nervous about screwing it up and then having to spend major bucks to fix the additional damage I may have caused.

Three things have really helped this to be a success...so far....

1. Prayer!
2. The advice of my father-in-law, and
3. The help I received here in the Hobbit Hole.

Thank you everyone. This place is really amazing. If anyone has a question about something, someone in here has a good answer, or can at least point in the right direction.

Yep. It's a great resource.

So...just what IS the meaning of life?

Heh...I think actually he was trying to get her to play. Note the look she was giving me...

Kind of a "what is WITH this nutty cat?" sort of look.

It sounds like you did a great job!

Oh no, I think you are thinking grubs! They eat at the roots and such...they are havoc on grass. Those turn into junebugs if we're talking the same thing!

Cutworms look like grey, nondiscript smooth catapillars.
