"When I started working on Two Towers, I looked at Return of the King. It's a brilliant film, perhaps the best of all of them."Sounds too good to be true. But I am expecting it to be anyway. Wish they were both coming out next month.

I seriously expect Return Of The King to be one of the greatest epics in cinema.
To: maquiladora
I believe I have reached the very top of how filled with anticipation I can be...does that make sense? I'm just maintaining till TTT comes out.
I can not wait to get this soundtrack!

Same here!
Have you listened to all 19 clips?
To: maquiladora
Not yet...downloading them to my hard drive right now. Which is your favorite?
To: 2Jedismom
I'll have to wait till I get home to hear them I'm afraid!
By the way, the full mp3 for Isengard Unleashed is
right here. It's a new one, I haven't posted it before.
I'd say, from the 5 or 6 that I've heard so far, I'd have to go for The Riders Of Rohan, but it's hard to tell when the quality of many of those radio copies are so poor.

I'm almost done downloading the snips. I'll listen to them all together here in a sec.

Wow, Maquiladora, I did get the clips down loaded, and love them. As soon as Farewell to Lorien started to play, I started to cry. Just beautiful.
Thank you for the clips.
And now for the bad news, after I downloaded the clips, I tried to send the review and clips to my bro-in-law, and screwed up my KMail Box, so am reduced to clunky bellsouth box or nearly as clunky Yahoo box. Ugh, anybody out there understand the Linux KMail?
But, the clips are just great, can't wait for Dec.

I need to hear the entire track to really judge, but I can say that the Breaking of the Fellowship along with the music right after Gandalf falls joined the ranks of the greatest pieces of film music of all time.
In no order:
1)Journey to the Line from Hans Zimmer's Thin Red Line score -- One of the best pieces of music ever composed, I'd buy the entire CD just for this, although most of the music is great
2)Imperial March(or Vader's theme) -- Iconic, one of the most well-known, and if you listen carefully, you can see Williams basically recomposed the funeral dirge to get this fantastic theme
3)Glory -- It's hard to pick just one track from this CD, but I guess the Burning of the Town of Darien and track 9(just before the final assault on Fort Wagner) are the best, along with the mournful Harlem Boys Choir when the bodies of the 54th soldiers are being dumped into the ditch.
4)Heaven and Earth by Kitaro -- Another one with a number of good themes
5)Any of James Newton Howard's best 2 works -- Snow Falling on Cedars(tarawa and Humanity on Trial) UNbreakable. He is the "King of Strings" by far and his superhero theme in Unbreakable far surpasses Williams' Superman.
6)the aforementioned tracks by Shore.
7)Not sure how to classify collaborations with the vocalist Lisa Gerrard, but her tracks from Gladiator(with Hans Zimmer) and Insider are to be ranked near the top.

What about Morricone?
To: maquiladora
Well I figured someone would add any I had forgotten :)
He has produced a number of fine soundtracks, but the only one that I can remember well off the top of my head is The Untouchables.

Surely you know his most famous of all?
His score for The Mission is his most well known; 'On Earth As It Is In Heaven'!
Listen to it, I bet you've heard it.
And what about that classic Western theme from A Fistful of Dollars?

The full Two Towers soundtrack has been leaked!
Hey guys, well it was bound to happen sooner rather than later!
The whole soundtrack, every track, in amazing 320kbps quality has been leaked online.
I'm not saying you should go and download it, afterall that's not totally legal....but people are downloading it on Dalnet, on the channel #mp3_soundtracks
So there you go, by the way, the lyrics for Gollum's Song are as follows:
Where once was light, now darkness falls
Where once was love: Love is no more
Don't say goodbye
Don't say I did'nt try
These tears we cry, are falling rain. For all the lies you told us; the hurt, the blame.
And we will weep to be so alone. We are lost, we can never go home.
So in the end, I'll be what I will be. No loyal friend was ever there for me.
Now we say; goodbye.
We say; you didn't try.
These tears you cry, have come too late. Take back the lies. The hurt, the blame.
And you will weep when you face the end alone. You are lost, you can never go home.
You are lost, you can never go home.
