So you probably won't even have time to go see the movie then! - Sounds tragic!

Actually, it works out quite well. The Christmas show our church does runs 19 performances (over 25,000 people see it), but we close the Sunday before TTT opens. I don't know if we'll be there on the first night, but Corin, Jr. and I will see it sometime that weekend.
Most of the business comes with rehearsals for the Christmas show. Cast lists will be posted this Wednesday and we'll start rehearsals right after that.

Part of my trouble in participating is that I run out of stuff to say about a single chapter after a day or two... unless a controversy develops over something. So covering a few chapters does help me not blow my whole wad in the first post! Re this and your other post soliciting input on the Green Dragon thread, I'm in, no matter the format, even if I don't post much. No preference on dates ... the only suggestion I have touches on what you wrote, above. If a format works to constrict conversation, I see no problem with broadening the subject matter, to go backwards, forwards, or stay on target. If folks hate spoilers, then posting Spoiler Alerts would be important, but I can tell you that not being able to range throughout the books has been difficult for me.
Hair, you've done a great job and I wouldn't want to try to substitute for you!

Hey, Gretchen, what's your name on the B&N site? GretchenEE
Thanks for the run-through from The Class. Now that my big weekend event is past, I can get back to life on the Internet a bit more.
To: GretchenEE
Thank you very much Gretchen!... We should be loose enough with topic to allow for drawing lines between events at the beginning and the end, you're right. There should be no such thing really as spoilers... I don't know of anyone who is reading through for the first time.
Hey - I just posted a cool article from TORN in the hobbit hole. Has a lot of TTT movie tidbits:

I am new, but having read through the Green Dragon thread, I really like the format a lot and don't see how you could improve on it.
I would echo Scott's comments at #58 about not being able to check in sometimes for long periods of time, but that's OK as far as I'm concerned. With all of the news, etc. there are lots of distractions. But when the movie comes out, watch out! Then this thread will be the hopping one...
I actually find the LOTR threads to be a wonderful respite from all the sound and fury elsewhere on FR. A place to take off the armor, put down the weapons, and have nice uplifting discussions about the wonderful world of Middle Earth.... Thanks to you for all you do to make this possible.....

Thanks rightwing!
I am gonna post something about getting back on track this afternoon... a "be on your guard" post to let everyone know we are starting again and give everyone time to get back into it...
Thanks for the feedback!

Geex Louise! have you read any on the B&N site today? Their discussion has devolved into LOTS of discussion about Orcs/Uruks/Uruk-Hai's, how the were bred, how the often do then reproduce, and lots of speculation about Darwin, and the evolution of these monsters, then it drifts into whether or not Gandalf "created" Hobbits from Men to counteract these creatures.
In short, lots of ideal speculation about stuff that is not mentioned.
Whew, enough!

Oh really!

Guess I'm not missing much then. :)
Maybe I should just read the assignments and leave the discussion to the weirdos.
