Here's an idea the level the playing field: for every dollar the prosecution spends on attorneys, investigators, and expert witnesses, the defendant gets one dollar for his attorneys, investigators, and expert witnesses. Expensive? You bet your buns, it's expensive. "But if it saves just one life...." Why shouldn't as much money be spent on the defendant's defense as on his prosecution? If it's that important to throw the guilty in jail, shouldn't we as a society make sure we have the right person, and make sure that innocent citizens shouldn't have to bankrupt themselves when the corrupt and overzealous agents of the state come to the house with the legirons? I agree with you 100%.
Seeing that you are discussing a subject that is in your line of work and experience, and that VRWC_minion is discussing something that ONE OF HIS WORKERS usED To Be or is!, I think I can see why you gave your answer and why he gives his.
VRWC_minion, if you think other posters on this thread have no legal experience, or Federal government experience or a combination of both, and that you are the expert in it, I ask you to re-consider.

I think she must have disappeared sometime after BVD left the house and 9 a.m. the next morning, because when the police did the first interviews I would assume they asked everyone when was the last time you saw Danielle.

It [they (THE STATE )don't prosecute unless they have overwhelming evidence to get a conviction] is well known by Federal defense lawyers to be true
Thank you for revealing your statist political beliefs above. No freedom loving American would advocate an omnipotent State as you have have just done.

Wonder where Damon hid them?Gave them to Bill Libby or one of the party goers to dispose of?

I also think that the state should have to reimburse the defendant for all expenses and lost income if anything other than a guilty verdict comes back.

If we could find 'those' pj's, we might be able to find Danielle's killer. Maybe they do have them. Where is the evidence there was ever a second set of identical pjs? Take Brenda's word for it? Not in this life-time.
To: All
This little girl took a tragic journey from her home to the side of a road.
The lab people and the sent dogs cannot place DW in the home where the procutator says the journey began.
The bugs say he was not there at the end of the journey.
If he was not there at the begining or the end he is not guilty.
Above any person I trust the dogs and bugs.
THOSE WITHOUT A POLITICAL AGENDA.
I have lurked from the start and wished to thank those on both sides who spent so much time reserching and informing the rest of us.

Where is the evidence there was ever a second set of identical pjs?I've wondered about that. It's unsubstantiated.
To: nycgal

Adding my thanks to both of you for your running documentation of the trial. Haven't been able to watch much of the trial, and it's wonderful to check these threads as time permits and follow the action.

Totally agree with you 447 post. It's very simple to
reach a common sense conclusion on what you posted.
Now, why isn't that jury back? LOL

Probably means that they picked a foreman (or woman).

Thanks, kogo connection dropped out as the
breaking news began.
I think they may want a read back.
To: spectre
No hard feelings spectre. Emotion and passion on any given subject will sometimes spawn hyperbole and invective. Let's hope the jury takes Judge Mudd's instructions to heart, that, unlike us, they are not to be defenders nor advocates for either side.

You may be right. Here's another comment below. BTW, why don't you guys come over to the new thread. It's tough bouncing back and forth. :0)
I'm guessing they just have some routine questions.

If for some twisted reason they found that the hair under the body matched, say Avila's do you really think that news would make the light of day? I don't.They found a child's backpack by the school where Danielle used to go. The police refused comment on whether it was Danielle's or not. Think they will tell us, or did they destroy it too? Since it didn't fit their case.
To: Steve0113
We have only the WORD of PROVEN LIARS that she was HOME after 3pm on FRIDAY. Sorry, there was the NEW neighbor who said Danielle and Brenda came over to sell cookies to him. Brenda said they only sold cookies on TUESDAY or THURSDAY, IIRC.
SO, the truth there seems suspicious also.
To: katnip; shezza
Shezza, a huge "thank you" for posting the live trial transcripts. You have been amazing.Another big "THANK YOU" from an everyday lurker.
