it's been about a month since steve left. I agree with you - I'm not crazy about the new guy either.
Fortunately I have all the videos - plus some that I taped myself - so I haven't missed steve to terribly much ;-)

xsteen finished up her pre-algebra class for the summer. She got an 85% on the final, and an 86% avg overall. She is thrilled and did well enough to be able to take the algebra class in 8th grade, which was what this class was all about. she worked her butt off at this and suffered many a 75% and 65% on the daily quizzes, but her hard work payed off. i am very proud of her.
her goal is to...be able to help her children with math when they have it in school......

of course, since we are nerds in this house, she has an algebra book and software to help her get boned up for what is undoubtedly going to be an extremely difficult math year for her, come the end of August. i so admire her tenacity, she works much harder than i ever did.

she finds it impossible to believe that i did well enough to take algebra in 7th grade and that i even took a year of calculus in college, yet every vestige of math knowledge has been evacuated from my brain. she can't get how that happened. i think it was the 3 cases of childbirth i suffered in the latter years... i think many many brain cells die in that process.

something caused some leakage from my brain! even law school is a hazy memory. xshub remembers all kinds of crap from law school and we graduated the same year, and i am convinced i did better on the bar exam than he did. yet i remember squat and he can cite you chapter and verse. i need something to plug up the leak!
