Hi, John. Thanks.
"I read they were degraded beyond usability."
You'd think maybe one'd been set off by now if they really had 'em...still, I think it makes sense to consider the possibilities and try to be ready.
I like the Heinlein quote, I've got to read some of that guy, been saying I will for awhile now. Maybe I'll pick one up when I hit the bookstore for Christmas shopping.
It's true, when I quit reading the Miami Herald, I felt alot more relaxed. 'Course now that I've discovered FR, I find all kinds of headlines again, more than the Herald ever had.

I'm home! What a way to keep from sitting around feeling hysteria rising than by going on a grueling 10 drive. Ugh.

Yes, it's good to be home, and on my own computer again. I enjoyed my visit with my family but I'm glad to be back!
Hey, my brother put in twice the memory into my old mac, so it runs really fast now. That means I can run in, check my email and get off line while Steve is still taking a shower! LOL It boots up really fast and shuts off quickly, unlike this PC.

Nice that it's been sped up. Glad you're back, though.
See everyone later.

So....you're going to the midnight show, right? We have a smarty-pants theater over here who's showing it at 11:59.

Drop a hint to someone to check out half.com, even if it has to come in after Christmas. I found a hardback copy for about $10 plus a couple of dollars shipping for Clare. Thanks for the info. Now, to make a subtle, yet not so subtle they miss it, hint...

We have a smarty-pants theater over here who's showing it at 11:59. Well, technically, as long as the actual movie doesn't start until after midnight, they are safe. With previews and other padding, a theater could fudge anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. I know I've waited through about 20 - 25 minutes of previews before at a movie. And with all of the new previews making their debuts on the 18th, I expect a long preview time for Two Towers as well.
