OK folks. I have to run for a bit and will be running Disk Doctor, etc on my computer, so I have to be offline.
See you later!

PJ has said that TTT will deviate more from the books than FoTR did. I am wondering if that will force RoTK to be just as "deviant" from the books, or if PJ will be able to return to more faithfulness to the books.

I think it is mostly spin... trying to deflate controversy over changes... I haven't seen that much actual deviation in the essential plot. Stuff has been delayed more than changed... other than the stuff that doesn't change anything. I think he is worried about the near-death of Aragorn, and the vision he has of Arwen coming to him.

Well, we already know of one deviation ROTK will have from the book, and that is the non-Scouring of the Shire. The rest of ROTK is pretty straight-forward though, and since much of it is action-based I think it will translate well to film.

PJ has said that TTT will deviate more from the books than FoTR did. Oh well....as long as the deviations are documented and have the proper QA authorization....
A little GLP humor.

Hey everybody!
I'm so excited!!! I just found out that I won 2 free passes to see TTT on Tuesday night the 17th at 10PM through an AOL sweepstakes I entered!
It's first come first serve, so I have to get there early - but how cool is it that I get to see it on Tuesday night and then again on Wednesday afternoon! And then YET AGAIN on January 25th for mini-moot. Woo-HOO! Life is good.
To: RMDupree
Holy mackerel! WOW! - You get to see it first!

I'm thrilled. I enter sweepstakes as a hobby and I've won some pretty decent stuff: perfume, shampoo, toys, BBQ grill, etc.
But this is the first time I've won something I really wanted badly! I'm just hoping they didn't send it out to every AOL subscriber in my area or I will be hard pressed to get seats. I can't get to the theatre they listed any earlier than 9PM (got to put kids in bed before leaving) and the movie starts at 10PM.
It would be horrible to get there and find out that all seats are already taken. :(

Thanks Kevin!
I am completely overwhelmed with excitement. I'm trying to temper it with some pessimism to avoid disappointment in case I get there too late.
To: RMDupree
EEEEK Ruthie... I don't know if you are gonna get a seat only an hour early or not!
To: HairOfTheDog
Yup. I'd better figure out a game plan. My sister can't help me because she's scheduled to go to Fort Meyers on Wednesday. My other sister can't do it either because her commute is long enough as it is. My mom watches the kids all day and doesn't share my enthusiasm for LoTR. My dad will be leaving earlier that Tuesday so he won't be there. And hubby is going with me.
Maybe I can convince Glen to go and hold our spot in line at 8PM while I make sure the kids are settled. Then, I could meet him there. Hmmmm.....

Big problems!

hehehehehe.
Glen has very little patience. Asking him to stand in what is sure to be a long line for a long time is a big deal.

The girl who sings "Gollum's Song" reminds me of Edie Brickell from Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians. Good call! Edie Brickell + Bjork = Gollum Gal.

Bear Threadkiller... Oops, sorry about that!
