“ Earthquake actually wasn’t in San Francisco.”

The ground shook there big time, lots of damage in the city.

I felt that earthquake all the way north in Monterey.

Liquefaction in Marina district built using the debris of the 1906 earthquake.

It was a big earthquake. The damage in San Francisco and Oakland was 80-90 miles away.

I had moved away from San Francisco in March of 1989.
I got to know the history of earthquakes when I lived there and and followed this event closely

I was in college, living on Fiji Hill in Eagle Rock when the Sylmar quake hit in 1971. It knocked a bookshelf down in my dormitory room and destroyed a nearby church.

I didn’t feel the Loma Prieta shaker here in Orange County.

Oh my goodness Fiji Hill!!

I am 84 and grew up in Highland Park/Eagle Rock.

We lived north of Hill Dr.

I graduated from Eagle Rock High School and our summer graduations were at Oxy!

I climbed that hill from the Eagle Rock Rec center to the Bowl to Oxy, many times!! lol.... The Sylmar quake took our fireplace down and did some damage to our home on Vincent Ave.

We did feel the Loma Prieta quake as a jolt.

I lived in Norris Hall, just below the crest of the hill. I sometimes hiked down to Colorado Blvd. to eat at Casa Bianca Pizza Pie, which is still in business.

Oh yes!! All very familiar to me!

We lived right up the hill from Casa Bianca on Vincent Ave for over 51 years!

My niece worked at Casa Bianca and knew the owners well.

My husband almost lived at Tritch Hardware and was a close friend of Jeff Tritch

The city has named that section of Eagle Rock, Tritch Square.

My father owned a business from the late 1930's on FairPark Ave.

Amazing to meet someone here that knew Eagle Rock well.
