Step 1: Martial law.
Step 2: Shut down evil big media.
Step 3: Take the seditionists prisoner and administer military justice.
We no longer live in a republic and this is what it will take to remedy the situation. Best get used to it.

See Post #39. If one is court martialed for disobeying an order he/she might use the defense that it was an illegal order. Of course the panel...consisting entirely of those superior in rank...would decide if that claim was true.
As a matter of fact if your making such a claim you might want to opt for a bench trial. A military judge might be more willing to fairly consider such a claim than would a jury.

During my BCT in 1969 we were given a lecture by a 1LT on "illegal orders". In his class he stated that a soldier isn't obliged to obey illegal orders....but he never gave us a *single* example of one.
This wasn't long after My Lai was in the news so I suspect that that was the reason it was given. I'd love to find out if such a class was held for military trainees *before* My Lai.
