This concert is the gold standard for me with Pat. I miss Mark Egan and Danny Gottlieb.

Last time I saw him a couple years back he made special mention, when announcing his drummer at the time, how the drummer’s importance is time keeping. I think that kinda boxed in the drummer. His past drummers kept time, but seemingly had more freedom to improv.

The most I ever paid for a record was Remember Pearl Harbor by Carson Robison, which set me back $30. In the late 1980s I purchased He Hit Me, which was released by the Crystals in 1962 but quickly withdrawn. The store charged about $5 because it was a rarity, but I recorded it on cassette and then sold it for $30.

My favorite Edith Piaf song is Les Trois Cloches (the three bells), from 1946, a song about a Swiss mountaineer. I also like Non, Je ne regrette rien (no, I regret nothing), from 1961. When I heard it in a recent TV ad, I just about fell off my chair because I thought no one else remembered it.

The 3 bells or “ little Jimmy Brown” was one of my first favorite songs when I was a young boy, and my mother could sing it very closely to Edith’s version.

God, the good ones are going way to soon, but I guess maybe God likes their music. Rock on.

I could not disagree more, even given that we seem to agree on most things here. If you have the time and are willing to listen to some very good jazz” Some Mingus:

or this, some Brubeck:

I would rather suck snot from a hobo’s nose. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜

The only time I muted parts of Bosch was when he was playing jazz.

I also suck on piano, but I still have some fun with that old thing.
