"It’s not a great experience for tge baby. I wouldn’t think."

It must be. He's been paying me back for it all these years 🤣🤣🤣

“My experience on the ER has always been like this. Damn intake questions.”

Not for a pregnant woman in labor. they were always taken from the ER directly up to the delivery room, and the questioning was asked there. Or else you might be singing “rub a dub dub..” in the check in station like this woman almost did. I’ve been in the ER and I’ve seen pregnant women fly by on a Stryker to the Delivery room. When those chicks come in normal hospitals don’t play around.

I would have just written “Nuts!” but I understand someone beat me to that to the point reply.

I love how their is a certain class of people who assume one must be a Democrat if one is not in lockstep with their opinion. Mrs. Biden may have been de facto president but as much as I usually have respect for the office if not the man, in her case I will make an exception.

Gosh, were you there at my prenatal visits and my hospital experience? You could have brought be ice-chips when my husband was not right in the room to do so.

I don’t hate the admissions nurse. I hate that priorities were skewered.

Did the mom prioritize the baby?

Did the mom prioritize the baby?

People like to pretend childbirth is an emergency. It is not

NEVER EVER did i ever not take an expecting mother up to the delivery floor when presented in the ER it was straight up to delivery period, this hospital is off the rails.

what is wrong with healthcare today, is the nursing unions demanding that ONLY RN’s work in hospitals period, no need for LVN/LPN nor cna.

You have never come across a situation where childbirth is an emergency?

Home birth with the au pair or midwife... very basic, with dubious certs and licenses. Miles from technical support. Suddenly a breach birth or Ox restriction occurs maybe a type negative blood transfusion is needed (they forgot about the teenage abortion... etc...) the EMTs used to talk about this crazy stuff all the time.

If they treated her without signed consent and something happened that would be a mess, too. They have to know who you are, allergies, hx etc.

The nurse and hospital really can’t disprove or dispute due to HIPPA can they?

In our ER pregnant women went straight to L/D. We didn’t do anything but send on.

I’ve had to ask those questions. It’s not fun. But we had to get consent to treat when possible, medical hx, allergies etc. Not knowing vital info could be a disaster. We needed to get next of kin asap sometimes, esp for minors. Not saying the case here at all, but there were “drama” or frequent patients who knew what to say to get treated quickly.

“ You have never come across a situation where childbirth is an emergency?”

There are emergencies in childbirth which is why I say one should always have labor and delivery in a hospital.

Tell us what the emergency was here

Which is one reason for any expectant mother to not cooperate, act like there’s an enormous crisis

OK. Thanks.

Yes, home birth is risky. Of course, birth is risky, but there are things that can be done to save the mother or baby or both in a hospital that simply can’t be done at home.

I remember when I was in for my second one, there was a lot of activity and suddenly I heard the dr yell something and EVERYONE jumped into action.

They wheeled a bed out of the delivery room into the elevator. Apparently a woman was bleeding heavily and needed EMERGENCY surgery to stop it and save her life. She would have died at home.
