Well, he never called my wife anything nor did he say anything about race to me that I recall. But, if he had, I wouldn’t take it to heart. He doesn’t know me or even if I have a wife. Apparently you have had some other experience?
And I see racist comments every day, some in jest, some repulsive, some mis-interpreted, some sincerely held beliefs and race has never in my life been so popular a subject of conversation as it is today.
He has got a quick wit and I kind of have an affinity for smart a$$es too — it’s entertaining. I was a submariner and man did we have some trials and tribulations among a quite intelligent crew. I grew to appreciate it in people. I’ve disagreed with him several times but I can be a disagreeable person too. It’s mostly in fun and mental sparring.
Yeah, just let it slide. So if you are in public with your wife, it would be OK with you for someone else to walk up and call her a "wh*re?"
