“Financially it’s a bad idea”

Is it a bad idea?

The money came from the people paying higher prices of foreign goods and from the profits of companies bringing in these goods, so giving some of it back to thee people to spend is an economic stimulus and makes good sense.

“Pay Down Our National Debt with this ‘found’ money!”

Even if that makes sense, and I’m sure it does too many of us, DC politicians simply don’t think that way.

Any kind of financial windfall is always seen, to politicians, as an opportunity for new spending.

I’d rather the tariff money be in my pocket than theirs.

death spiral of Democracy.

Inflation makes politicians promise more handouts of money, which drives inflation higher, which causes more handouts, and this continues until national bankruptcy

Exactly. Another move that reduces the value of the dollar.

He seems to be keeping all of his promises…. Despite a constant legal headwind…. He is winning on all fronts. I cant imagine anyone who voted for him having remorse. Its easy to imagine the media brow beating folks into thinking things are worse than they are…. Because they do it all the time…. unless a democrat is in office…. Then they cover for them.

Consumer sentiment is almost at a record low…. Worse than when inflation was 9%…. Based on what? 3 percent inflation? Illegals getting the boot? AI taking on a bigger role in the workforce? Falling interest rates? Whatever the reason I am not sure how a Trump voter is going to lay it on Trump.

Trump has lost his momentum because he ran promising justice then refused to deliver. He CHOSE to prevent prosecution of Hillary.

The only thing we the people are entitled to is JUSTICE.

We still have ZERO arrests, ZERO perpwalks, ZERO mugshots, ZERO impeached judges.

I will not be bribed to look the other way.

Read my lips, No Justice, No Maga!

- ... paying down the debt will just allow the Dems to spend more when they get back into power. -

I suspect they'll spend more regardless of how large the debt becomes. They care only about buying votes.

That 5000k rebate from DOGE was just floated by Elon. It was never promised or agreed upon by anyone else.

Elon wasn’t running for president himself.

Yesterday I detailed on my blog 339 dollars, 28 cents more ‘revenue’ per person for the first nine months of this year from the tariffs. (118 billion dollars)

Was the POTUS reading it???

No time for ego inflation off to church.

This is an attempt to make lower income voters happy. Financially it’s a bad idea, but it may actually soothe some voters.

It's a dagger to the Rat party and Free Traders who are pushing the Orange Man Bad schtick. The Welfare Queens will love Trump when they get their checks. Everyone loves free money. I know how well Trump marketed his casinos in AC. All of the grannies blowing their Social Security checks on the slot machines got a free $10 on their next trip, which most of them lost and a buffet meal with their Trump loyalty card. The man knows how to market himself. IF Trump loses the tariff case at SCOTUS, this will put political pressure on the Congress to amend the law with retroactive effect.

“”This morning, President Trump announced a $2,000 dividend for all Americans from the tariff surplus. “”

***

While I could definitely use the money... I really don’t think the nation will prosper from any more ‘giveaways’ unless or until our national debt is eliminated. It’s just kicking the ‘economic death’ can down the road for the next administration to deal with and delaying the inevitable economic ‘fall’ that the Democrats have been pushing and shoving us towards for decades now. So thanks, President Trump....

but no thanks.

I’d be happy with making it impossible for the Democrats to cheat and steal another election and for at least a ‘few’ of the leftist perps being frog-marched to jail. I know, I know... still dreaming.
