UPS confirmed Flight 2976 from Louisville to Honolulu with three people on board.
Video shows a plane attempting to take off southbound from the airport with a fire burning off the left wing. Shortly thereafter, it explodes.
Jeez...sort of reminds the final Concorde flight that crashed on takeoff in Paris 25 years ago....from what i remember the Concorde ran over a piece of debris on take off which pierced the fuel tank and caused the explosion...wonder if this is similar..
Really odd the guy happened to be videoing the takeoff.

Yup- happened a month or so after my wife and i flew out of Paris at the end of our honeymoon...
UPS plane carrying 3 people. The damage to what all it took out on the ground is extensive.
UPS Confirmed it was a MD-11 with 3 crew.
A reasonable explaination is that he saw the plane traveling down the runway with the fire emerging...and just wiped out his phone and started recording.

Yes...significant concern about UPS buildings, parking lot, and streets and businesses in the path of the explosion, which would have travelled with the speed of the plane...
Shelter in place area has been extended to the Ohio River and southern Indiana.
That pic of it going through the roof of the UPS building was so jaw dropping. I hope not too many were in there.
