I LIVE ON UNDER $17,000 a year.
$33,000 would be nice—but I have NO MORTGAGE/NO CAR PAYMENTS
I BOUGHT A HOUSE IN SAN FERNANDO VALLEY IN 1966 FOR $25,250.
TODAY, EVERYTHING AROUND IT IS ASKING OVER $750,000.
GLAD I AM OUT OF CALIF.
THAT PRO.
PROPERTY was .6 OF AN ACRE. I NOW HAVE 38+ X THAT ACREAGE
CURRENT PROPERTY TAXES ARE $1025.00 NOT OVER $8,000.
MUCH LESS CRIME. QUIETER. SAFER. CHEAPER COL.
WHY NOT TAKE THE LUMP SUM???
WHO CAN GUARANTEE CALIF WILL BE STILL VIABLE ABOUT PAYMENTS FOR 26 YEARS???
Hire someone to unstick your CAPS LOCK button ;)
Sound advice :)

Article said “nearly $17”, when “$17” or “about $17” would have been fine. I read it as 17M, which made no sense.
Some states require you to disclose your identity. I don’t know if you can remain behind a trust.
I promised pianos to my sister and a friend. Another piano, a couple of pinball machines and a dart board for me. And a nice pair of shoes.
“Some states require you to disclose your identity.”
Yeah, California is like that.......you can always thank that state for finding new ways to get a person robbed or murdered.
A million dollars is nothing where I live. It might buy a really really small fixer upper upper.
Either way, the idiot will burn through all of it.
