There are some worthless fields in academe, but this one takes the prize. So sterile, they don’t even pretend to produce anything.

Tenured professors aren’t going to just up and leave unless they get a pay package they can’t refuse. My guess is people wanting to leave are adjunct and associate professors with little time on the job..
