A great song from a great band during a great era ...
SiriusXM won the lawsuit years ago but only started playing Turtles records again about 2 months ago, even though they had every right to do so after winning the suit. It’s been good hearing them again, RIP Flo.
I finally find out what Flo and Eddie meant.
Rest In Peace, Mark Volman.
I watched 200 Motels just a few days ago and wondered whatever happened to Flo and Eddie. RIP
They were great on Zappa’s live album: “Just Another Band From LA”
Turtles had some very good hits and Howard Kaylan was a very good singer.
Back in the day, he and Howard Kaylan always acted like they were homosexual partners.
Mothers Live at the Filmore too. They had fun with Happy Together .

Flo & Eddie were sought after studio singers too. T-Rex Bang a Gong is one.
Just played Billy the Mountain last week.
You Showed Me was a really cool tune..
Back in the Long ago, I was a fan of Grand Funk Railroad. I went to their concert, and the warm-up band was Flo and Eddie.
After the superior music they presented was over, GFR sounded like shi’ite. The remnants of the Turtles? They were excellent.
Howard Kaylan was known as Howard Kaplan when I went to HS with them.
Both very fat nice Jewish boys. Their band was called the Crossfires in HS. Chuck Portz was the only other one I remember.
No idea how they avoided the VN draft, they were not from rich families AFAIK
I saw The Turtles perform live in Anchorage, Alaska, in the summer of 1967. They were a fantastic band with superb musicians and singing. Wonderful performers ! Great memory for me !
R.I.P. Mark Volman.
High number maybe?
Draft number? I enlisted in 1965 before draft age, so they were close behind, early in the VN draft era.
They were not college students. either, they scammed out..
Long before the lottery started.
Awww, man!
He made some awesome songs...RIP
When did the lottery start? I’d thought it dated back to wwll. I think in about ‘68 my cousin scored a high number much to his mothers relief. I was only 10 yrs old so I’m not up on the finer points.
