Conducted by the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and BOKU University in Vienna

Wanna bet that their solution is to have the government grant billions of taxpayer money to NGOs like the Potsdam Institute and BOKU University to fund these peoples' six figure salaries to "study" the crisis?

They start out the year by predicting record hurricane activity. They then periodically revise the forecast and at the end of the year they crow about their remarkably accurate predictions.

Peer reviewed in this unbiased doc of the “Sustainability Times”, a respected mag written by respected Scientists, who respect themselves for their lack of bias. In other words, total BS.

Sharknados are beginning to be a problem. Have you seen the documentary movies?

The integrity of Earth’s biosphere is under unprecedented threat, according to a recent study that sheds light on the planet’s declining ability to maintain ecological balance.

This may be a legitimate claim, but the causes and remedial actions proposed by people like this are totally mistaken, and frankly, enormously destructive to their purported ends. The real problem is cultural, not technical.

When we started our native plant restoration project on our property in 1989, 80% of archivally documented native plant biodiversity was no longer reproducing. The principal causes were two: Exotic invasions and uninterrupted vegetative succession. The latter is exacerbated by a policy of "preservation," as Indians had run the system at a high rate of vegetative disturbance with regular fire. There was no "forest" here. Oak woodland overran the property because grading blades on dirt roads dragged the acorns up here.

What I have found doing 36 years of restoration work is that to sustain the foundations of the land-based life systems on this planet will require enormous amounts of work by people, which can only start on a limited basis among an array of small projects restoring reproducing genetics. These huge conservancies, wilderness areas, etc. accomplish nothing except further infestation. They teach us nothing about how these systems work on a local basis.

The good news is that I've been able to recover said genetics from 60 species of plants to now over 400 despite that our property had a 200 year weed introduction history (the original Spanish trail between missions went along the ridge at the top of the property. The situation is savable, but not without a complete reorganization of governing environmental principles. The key is to develop a new industry dedicated to keeping these genetics alive and reproducing with which to identify what is needed to keep the system going. It is an industry that has yet to be developed about which I first published some 25 years ago and patented the first free market environmental management business method.

While the book was hand carried into the White House, 9-11 followed within weeks and all interest in it was lost.

If you are reading this having any capability of getting me in contact with Mr. Zeldin or anyone in the White House today, I'd obviously love to teach what this is all about. There is a lot behind what I have to say regarding the origins of the current cultural paradigm regarding "Nature." I'm working on that book now.

This cataclysm can be avoided if every liberal would throw themselves into the nearest volcano. It doesn’t even have to be active.

commie scientist sez

fta-examines the energy flows derived from photosynthesis

photosynthesis requires co2

rather than limit co2 should we now be increasing it?

By 1900, substantial portions of global land had already exceeded safe ecological thresholds, with 37 percent in a precarious state and 14 percent in high-risk zones. Fast forward to today, and those numbers have climbed to 60 percent and 38 percent, respectively.

So we were already "doomed" in the year 1900. Old news!!

Never mind the numerous volcanoes going off and all the fires. I live over 600 miles from the Canadian fires, and the smoke reached us.

Very amusing to be found in a supposedly Israeli site, which turns out to be in a WeWork rental space in the Vogl center, for starters.

Israelis promoting the German-Austrian "researchers use the LPJmL model." So this is a report about estimates and modeling. [ Lund-Potsdam-Jena managed Land ]

"The LPJmL model has been developed from LPJ, a Dynamic Global Vegetation Model (DGVM), which was designed to simulate the global terrestrial carbon cycle and the response of carbon and vegetation patterns under climate change. As carbon and water cycles are intimately linked, it was quickly extended to also simulate the terrestrial water cycle>/B>." ,p. Source: Potsdam-Institut für Klimafolgenforschung (PIK) e. V.
Personally, I use the GIGO model to evaluate all the guesstimates from the guess-timaters.

Small additional point: the "Israeli" website was registered through a French company -- 3e médias -- and "published" through another, registered only recently through a British company with privacy provided by a company in Nassau, Bahamas.

Quite an odd trail of "who's who."

Where were these doomsayers years ago when the environment was really bad. Read the descriptions of Londons air quality in the early 19th century, when our rivers were open sewers and California was blanketed with smog. Environmental conditions in the western world have vastly improved in the last 50 years. It is the third word in places like China and India where the environment is being destroyed.

I ask climate loons all the time when they speak with me- why do you remain part of the problem you believe exists?

I tell them if they really think the planet is in peril then stop flying, driving and most of all, stop breathing. Every time you wake up in the morning you are putting the planet in further peril according to your beliefs!!!

I encourage them to become part of the solution by ending it all rather than remain part of a problem they believe exists!!!

Now, if someone would just stop to realize and admit that governments are the main CAUSE most of these (alleged) “environmental threats, we’d be getting somewhere and getting a handle on addressing them properly.

In the last 20 years, 13% MORE plat life has been added, largely in desert/semi-desert areas. This makes no sense.

As far as that 60% figure, there is no indication of a baseline. For starters, Antarctica is pretty much off limits, and NOT because of warming. Ditto northern Canada and Russia.

There is also no definition of what the heck “Beyond Limits” means.

Why have temperatures this summer been below normal in most of the U.S.?

Soon to be labeled as the hottest summer on record.
