#5 YES! it is those companies that pay extra to buy up 10’s of thousands of homes and rent them that drive up the cost of other existing homes. They bribe the politicians to stop building new homes and the politicians will add many thousands in fees to drive up the cost as well.
Or stop building in the areas the brush fires happened in southern California and elsewhere. 8+ months and you can count the number of homes being rebuilt on one hand! Deliberate delay to force the owners to sell cheaper so builders and Blackrock, Vanguard etc. can buy up the lots for the democrat dream of forcing apartments in single family neighborhoods.
Kick out illegals and housing issues will abate.
In our city, a local building inspector freely admitted that the building department fails every first inspection, in order to force more inspections. Of course each inspection is charged an inspection fee.
Job security.
Of course this was the same clown who also admitted that he poured a slab at his own house without a permit.
Corruptocrats!
In other news, this same city outsourced code enforcement. Finding violations and subsequent fines are the source of revenue. Certainly the city gets a cut of the action.
“Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime”
In such systems, every man is a criminal, though unaware of his “crime”.
