Nobody in this thread mentioned "elevation". The climate is very different between nearby locations when there is also a difference in elevation.

You'd be surprised at the climate difference at the Grand Canyon at the top of the rim compared to the canyon floor. That might be only 10ft of horizontal difference.

Can't speak for anywhere else in the country, it certainly seems like the seasons are "shifting" here in Northeast Illinois and it's felt like that for about ten years.

Yes, I have felt the same way here in Texas for the last tenish years, except I have been thinking the shifting is to earlier.

Also just observation, nothing definitive. It always varies. :)
