It’s what happens when a people give up their arms to a government that has hated them for centuries.
I’ve never seen a war won using exclusively mortars and timebombs.
Also. I don’t think many people appreciate the fact that you can’t simply pick up a 60 or 80 mm mortar and start flinging rounds accurately, because in reality it takes months of training from someone who knows what the hell they’re doing to use it effectively.
