As usual the Cowboys screwed up with a great player, they could have worked this out over the spring and summer and yet did not. So they trade the number one defensive player in the league away.
“I wouldnβt mind a corner or safety to fill out the secondary. I miss the days of Rod Perry, Nolan Cromwell, Monte Jackson and Pat Thomas”
You are going way back, and I remember them as well.
Interesting reminder here about the late ‘80s Cowboys’ Herschel Walker trade-away and how it led to three SB’s in the 1990s.

FWIW, I don’t think the Packers are going to get their money out of this, at all.
All one needs to do is to look at the wise guys in Vegas, and where the odds changed today.
Jerruh is the worst GM in the league.
The only problem is Jordan Love maybe even more overrated then Dak Prescott.
Right- because Jerry Jones is the same football mind Jimmy Johnson was in his prime...
If I read that correctly he will get 120 MILLION up front ... I can’t fathom the monies awarded in some of these contracts and HOW they are able to recoup it? I grew up with the NFL since the 70’s and I no longer follow any of it....priced out regular families from ever going to a game and the jumping into social issues has just soured me. Another faction of society that forgot where they came from , sad.
Same here. Couldn’t care about any of the pro sports.
If a CEO gets paid 20 million a year to run a massive corporation that is considered to be horrible.
If a guy gets paid 50 million a year to play with a ball that is just fine.
We paid for a new stadium for the Minnesota Twins. We can’t watch a game on tv unless we pay for a streaming service.
Screw em.
Right, because Jerry Jones is GM, not the head coach.
Depends how well the Packers do, if they win the SB, the Cowboys will get screwed.
The Cowboys will be 5-12 with that schedule.
More like 9-8.
We will see.
I did a ridiculously early prediction for division winners and the six wildcard teams, and put Dallas in the latter list (linked a few posts back). They’ll probably need at least 10-7 to make it, with favorable tiebreakers.
Whoops, I had my numbers switched, 8-9.
OTOH there are always disproportionate matchups (where a seemingly lesser team has some odd edge and unexpectedly wins a game), and the unpredictable injuries that turn tides and seasons.
“I canβt fathom the monies awarded in some of these contracts and HOW they are able to recoup it? “
” Insurance companies, and their commercial jingles”. Wall street at 45,000+
“.. and they were buying selling, marrying and giving in marriage, and knew not, then the end came”,π
As in the Days of Noah ππ
Won't go so far to say SOL...but if they lose a couple key players (yet again) to injury...it could get real ugly...in a division where your opponents are on the rise. Pre-season may mean nothing, but it basically showcases your depth...I didn't see much depth, with the exception of that new receiver.
fight on state
fight on state
roar lions, roar
we’ll hit the line
roll up the score
go on to victr’y ever more
not in the 90’s he wasn’t- Johnson ran the entire show
