Not a fan of the fender skirts (also known as wheel spats). They’re a statement that the manufacturer never intended to have wide performance tires on the rear.

Bonneville was too large — GTO JUST RIGHT!

I’ve owned two ‘65 GTOs — let the first one get away FRom me in 1974.

I have owned #2 for 48 years! Still love driving it!

MY 1965 Pontiac Catalina wagon got 18-19 out on the road and I could hang at 80-90 all night long on I-40 thru New Mexico.

A friend of mine’s mom had a Baby Blue ‘63 T Bird.

I saw that car in their driveway for so many years I couldn’t count it. She never garaged it, just left it out front.

The real fun was gone during the Malaise Era, the mid 70’s was the beginning when horsepower went down the toilet.

Had a friend who had a white SS 327. That’s when console shifters were brand new.

My first car was a 1967 Bonneville. We called it “the barge.”

Remember when you could launch aircraft off both the front and rear of your car?

My first car was a 1965 Dodge Monaco. It had seat belts and factory air. Leather seats also. The guy who had before me bought it in Detroit. 383ci four barrel. I loved that car.

Iris Mist AKA Plum Mist (Chevrolet) is the rarest GM factory color from the 50’s and 60’s. One of my High School classmates had a 57 Bel Air 2 door hardtop that was painted Plum Mist.

My 67 GTO is Starlight Black. Surprisingly, there wasn’t many black cars back in those days. I believe that 67 was the last year for Iris Mist, I have seen only one GTO in that color.

Bought a 1965 Catalina 2+2 convertible in 1969. 421 Tri-power, 4 speed. The thing was huge and had a back seat as big as a king sized bed. Put it to good use. Got so it needed a lot of work and I was going to college and had no money so had to sell it. Very rare car that’s worth a ton of money today.

I had a ‘67 Ventura for several years. I occasionally used it to commute from Rio Rancho to Los Alamos (200 mile round trip). I would average about 17 mpg. Not bad considering I was going from 5300 ft elevation to 7500 ft and back again.
