Crimea was given to Ukraine in 1954. This was further confirmed in 1991 when the Soviet Union broke up.
I am well aware of the absolute mess that is Russia. They are huge. They have great resources. They make relatively little. They strip the resources from their land and send it elsewhere.
After the fall of your beloved Soviet Union, the government privatized many of the industries in the country; handing over huge swaths of their industry to the friends of the leadership.
This has lead to the absolute corruption of the system. These oligarchs are just interested in stealing as much as they can and funneling that money to Switzerland and other tax havens. The Med and Caribbean are full of Russian yachts.
Russia has the potential to be the source of all good in the world. Instead, they treat their resources and people like crap. The world would be better off without the people leading that country.
