US and Russia to carve up Europe?
That’s nuts. The one benefit of the Russian Ukrainian war has been to weaken Russia and pull them away from Europe.
Putin has made Russia into a pariah nation. They’re a BRICS nation that seeks to destabilize USD. Russia is allied with China, US primary adversary. China is Russia’s best oil customer which feeds the Russian military machine. There’s no basis for any cooperation and trust.
Russia has lost blood and treasure. Money from oil could’ve been used to diversify and strengthen their economy. But they foolishly chose war.
The silver lining is that Russia is racing towards demographic doom. The hatred of Russia and Russians in Europe will last for decades.
And that doesn’t mean that Zelinsky is some sort of hero or genius; he’s not.He’s a loser who should be pushing for a deal.
This Armstrong guy sounds like a paid Russian shill.
What ethnic lines? Some people speak Russian at home, but still think of themselves as Ukrainians. Their neighbors may speak Ukrainian or Surzhyk, a Russian-Ukrainian mix. Some areas speak Russian, but are surrounded by Ukrainian-speaking areas. Parents and their children may not have the same preferred language. Russian-speaking Crimea shouldn't have been given to Ukraine by Khrushchev, but in the rest of the country language areas may change over time. "Ethnic" identity is even harder to determine and harder to make the basis of boundaries.
St Z is a Russian speaker, he had to learn the Ukrainian language late in life…much said about his piss poor Ukrainian….the irony, a Ukrainian President who only spoke Russian the majority of his life!
