“”””Walmart delivery persons expect 100% tips... Same as what your purchase is.”””””
I’m not buying this, people expecting $100, and $200, and $300 dollar tips based on equal to whatever the person who shops at Walmart bought that day and is being delivered, and I sure don’t believe that Walmart is hiring that way.
I think the confusion is that Walmart makes clear that 100% of the TIP, goes to the driver.
Sounds like someone’s wife slithered in there and had a talk with them about it.
Might as well bring in the robot servers then. Without tipping, there is no incentive to give service above the minimum required in the manual. If you need proof of this, go to Europe and eat in a restaurant, but be prepared to be underwhelmed.
First I've ever heard someone tipping an auto mechanic.
Nope, both drivers told me Walmart told them they should usually get the same in tips as the total of the delivery. 100%
I told them that was crazy, I could buy enough gas to get to Texas from Az with that.
I still leave a few bucks for housekeepers but my 40 yo daughter acts like that’s crazy! They watched us leave them tips growing up, but apparently that’s gone the way of the dodo bird for millennials.
Then you just ran into a couple of mental cases, Walmart has nothing to do with this story.
“First I’ve ever heard someone tipping an auto mechanic.”
You don’t have to, and it is not expected, but if you are ever going to go out of your way to appreciate good honest service it would be your car doctor... You treat them right and they will treat you right. They could lie to you in a heartbeat about the diagnosis and turn a $200 job into a $2000 job...
Ppl need to realize that fact. Just tip on the amount before taxes or service charges.
Many restaurants don’t even pay minimum wage precisely because the employee is tipped. It makes going on vacation or calling in sick a painful experience financially.
Everything is free in Heaven.
Too bad Trump disagrees with you, lol.
Nobody is making wages of $20-30/hr in the restaurant industry, with the exception of wackadoodle liberal cities like Seattle, Portland, San Francisco or NYC.
We had our A/C cleaned a month or so ago and I tipped the guy who serviced it a 6 pack of Suntory Lager !

Aside from personal character, hiring well and firing when needed is what the owner is for.
Any mediocre and indifferent employee who is hurting your service business and driving away customers, needs to go, and you made a bad hire.
Hubby has worked part time at a high-end steakhouse for more than a decade. He’s been a server for over 40 yrs and it’s not really a job for him. He routinely averages $50/hr, mainly because of his experience, but if he calls out sick or we go on vacation, he only gets $9 an hour. Things like that are why I think the “no tax on tips” law is fair.
“Come on you, cough up a buck, you cheap bastard!”
And what if everyone there behaves the same? It’s not like experienced servers grow on trees.
Don’t conflate absolute numbers with percentages...
LOL, don’t hire people of low character with a lousy work ethic.
