Will the TikTok software be understood by the acquiring American company within seven days? Seven weeks?
Will TikTok be taken offline until the software is understood or rewritten?
What if 10% of the acquiring company’s software engineers were born in Red China?
I can see why they would be reluctant to cut the Americans off.
Once they spin it off, the original app will lose 50% of the value.

Yes, once it goes dark in the U.S. it loses market (customers) outside the U.S. as well, as some foreign TikToc account holders depend on U.S users and ads U.S. users. The market customer share for TikTok will start dropping globally, the market value for TikTok starts dropping and for its 60% shareholders its either get Xi to make a deal or abandon their equity in TikTok. The possible U.S. buyers are by then already losing interest as well, as their valuation of TikTok is “as is”, not as it will be after/if it goes dark in the U.S.
Let ‘em go dark.......the “woke” and “snowflakes” will go nuts!

It'll only work in the U.S., so if you have global customers, you won't be able to reach them.

Trump used TikTok to campaign.
He wasn't able to campaign by using traditional media.
He had to use alternative media and TikTok helped him to win the election.
What if the spying is done via advertiser keyword combinations and not TikTok itself?

That is why it has be sold whole to American buyers, and two of the different groups of investor buyers have plans to quickly revise the algorithm to their own standard, hacking out any CCP hacking stuff currently in there. The American buyers do not even want TikTok unless they are free to modify the algorithm.
TikTok loses its U.S. market and those in the U.S. on TikTok or those TicTok accounts depending on U.S. customers and ads, are going to move to Facebook, Youtube, Instagram ect. As they do TikTok CCP global will become a diminishing brand.

Instagram is losing popularity.
Instagram has about 2 billion monthly users.
Youtube is raking in the highest portion of ad revenue.
Facebook and Youtube are more profitiable than TikToc.
What TikTok has can be duplicated, including its operstional model for content creation ect.
