#1 It seems to be the 50's.
#2 The people watching TV are unaware of the nuclear flash.
#3 A guy has a fallout shelter and gets his family in, and a black guy tries to get inside with his family and is belted by the white guy. The only thing is though is that was featured in a Twilight Zone episode, where a white family has a fallout shelter, and he won't let the other white families in, during a nuclear scare.
Woke.
Old news.
Meh...not many Americans killed.
I mentioned this game to my 30 yr old children, and they instantly knew the game, the backstory and the game play.
I had never heard of it, and am amazed at popular culture having such influence on my prodigies.
Still preferable to Ukraine losing.
Fallout is a recent production based on a video game. So, yeah....it’s pretty woke.
I think its on Prime...which would also suggest a very woke production.
Aside from those things, it was a pretty fun series. Season two is coming soon.
How about the pressure wave shatters all the glass and doesn’t even make em blink? No heat? No flash? No sound?
Who needs nuclear weapons when you have Karen Bass to destroy LA all by her self.
Season 1 rocked. I fear Season 2 will disappoint. Second seasons often do.

What episode was the explosions?
[The people watching TV are unaware of the nuclear flash.]
Way back it was claimed that the wind blast would be about
900mph in speed - The Terminator 2 scene was pretty good
IMHO but even then, that speed could not be simulated outside
of CGI - the bus blown off the highway (and cars) were actual
models blown off by fans (for the shot)
Pretty sure it was at the end of the first. Half the story is told in flashbacks to prewar.
This is a fun site. The Chicom 5 megaton on LA looks like it might be about right for that sequence.

Probably worse than the numbers they calculate

Owen: [Russia’s huge geography advantage and mobile ICBM launcher technology advantage compels this. US warheads in North Dakota, Montana and Colorado are centralized away from the coasts and the Russian boomer launch at sea. Only a few minutes travel time, especially with Russian hypersonics. Those warheads are far too vulnerable and thus, were put on subs.]
That’s not even factoring in ballistic missile defense systems, of which the US has the only working, if somewhat leaky system. The forward basing of US air assets means that if the nuclear balloon goes up, US stealth airframes are in range, with buddy refueling, to stage one-way,Doolittle-style missions to defang enemy missiles at their bases, or in the boost phase, likely with help from allied air forces. The Doolittle raid was the first kamikaze attack of WW2. They were expected to die. But that was just a revenge raid, a pinprick to remind the Japanese that despite the debacle at Pearl, Uncle Sam was still in the game. With cities hanging in the balance, there is little doubt any sitting White House occupant would mount similar raids.
But what a cheesy nuclear explosion. No spreading high speed shock wave. No heat.
Here's the reality (closer to the explosion than the house in the video, no doubt).
It is a very good Amazon series based off a beloved video game series.
