She was impressive, but I’ll never forget Peggy Fleming.
A female sport that outdraws the men, it is a mystery.
For a while, women's tennis was more entertaining then men's tennis, until Germany was an accomplice in the stabbing of Monica Seles.
Reminds me of Gilda Radner’s skits on SNL.
Plus, all else being equal, who wouldn’t rather look at a female with a perfect body?
Yes, and Mary Lou Retton was huge too. I even got a “wedge” haircut in high school because of her.
“She was impressive, but I’ll never forget Peggy Fleming.”
Olga Korbut’s floor routine.
Isn’t that haircut pretty close to the haircut that is considered the official haircut of Karens?
What about that winter sport “curling”? They slide a rock on the ice and then sweep with brooms as fast as they can. That kinda seems like a natural sport for women.
And in the summer they can do sandwich making and ice tea carrying.
Remember it well- the scoreboard in Montreal only had one digit available to the left of the decimal point and it read “1.00”.....the announcers on ABC took a second or two to firgure outh what was happening...
They’re similar, yes, but the old Mary Lou Retton wedge is more . . . youthful and swept back from the face. The more recent Karen-style wedge is quite severe, even aggressive, high in the back and with sharp points at the sides along the jawline. I loved my cute high school Retton wedge, but I would never, ever get a Karen wedge.
There are female sports outdraw the men.
Do you mean Dorothy Hamill and her hair cut?
No, Mary Lou Retton.
I don’t know that I’ve ever been in a household where the men were watching male gymnastics, does anyone keep up with their names?
Yes, I remember. She was beautiful to watch.
I always thought Tanya Harding was kinda hot.
