Just thought of this - given that we have “smart meters” now, the folks that vote for this crap should be identified and have their power cut first (when they do it in the US).

I refused a smart meter, and pay for the privilege of some idiot to read my meter, when I could simply text an image of it to a robot to read it.

I laugh at them too. The Chinese would handle the people in charge of electricity quickly: walked out into the street and executed. I have no sympathy. And who is going to bail them out? It will take years to turn it around.

This is an area where Elon Musk is an absolute retard, proclaiming that we need to go massive on solar. It is ridiculously wasteful of land and vulnerable to cloudy weather and storms. Nuclear and gas have no such issues. And gas is very cheap and clean.

Well, if ANYone can do windmills, it is the Netherlands. I am amazed that the people in these small countries don’t look only a few miles away (say, to nuke powered France), and push for doing things that way. As in the U.S., it is the folks in the cities that are complete clods (for instance, the folks in Amsterdam and ignore are have contempt for the plight of some of the most productive farmers in the world.

Alice Weidel of the AfD Party stated in an exceptional interview with Jordan Peterson (he didn’t spend too much time on the importance of Moses or Abraham seeking adventure) that the EU trick is to be an excuse for the local politicians to claim that their hands are tied because of the EU directives, and the local politicians like it, because it renders them unaccountable for being bad actors.

Mary Ann was a boss for trekking around the sand in high heels. And such a gal pal to pedal so Ginger could keep herself beautiful for no one in particular.

The Netherland is a leader in the war against carbon. (I once believed the myth that Germanic people were intelligent.)

The process of ignoring crypto mining - which devours electricity - is intentional. So is the lack of mentioning the HUGE tax exemption that miners get from the Dutch government.

https://kryptos.io/blog/crypto-mining-tax-in-the-netherlands-what-you-need-to-know

The Netherlands stands out as a key player in the global crypto mining scene, driven by factors such as a favorable climate and cost-effective electricity. Companies like BitFury and Genesis Mining have recognized the potential, establishing significant operations in the country. With over half of daily Bitcoin mining occurring in the Netherlands, it's evident that the nation has become a powerhouse in the crypto mining domain.

One of the reasons behind the Netherlands' success in crypto mining is the supportive stance of its government. In 2014, the Dutch government introduced a tax scheme exempting Bitcoin miners from Value Added Tax (VAT) on their profits. This move has fostered a conducive environment for mining activities, attracting both local and international players.

This is happening in the US as well. Energy prices are soaring, but hardly anyone mentions one of the main causes - crypto mining. It’s in a special category, and is hands-off. Which tells us that extremely powerful interests are behind it - and absolutely do not give a crap about how it affects people on a daily basis.

Intelligence is not the same as good sense. The Germans and the Dutch have very high IQ, but not good instincts or sense.
