You are correct. It is far from over.
What you touched on is the curse of Conservatism.
Conservatives must man the dikes that surround our society, and watch for breaks and leaks in it. That dike keeps out the sea of Leftism. That sea of Leftism places pressure everywhere at the same time.
It is tyrannical, unchanging, unsleeping, and relentless in the same way a mindless black ocean pressing against a real dike would be. When it finds a weakness, it creeps through and begins eroding to pour in its destructive poison.
For the Left, this assault is a one-way ratchet, for the most part. Territory surrendered to them is almost never regained.
Until Trump became President. He understands fully the unsleeping, unceasing creep of Leftism.
Yes. See my post just above.
There is so much that Congress could be doing on this issue and on cutting the spending but they won't lift a finger to help. It's not easy for Trump to have to carry the full weight of these important fights.
Given our form of government, Trump could not possibly carry the full weight. He is neither king nor dictator.
Given our form of government, Trump could not possibly carry the full weight. He is neither king nor dictator.
That's a given for most thinking people. I will try to type little slower so that slower folks can keep up even without the need for me to state every obvious fact.
All that is being done is being done by the Executive Branch. There is much work that needs to be done by both the Legislative and Judicial Branches. The SCOTUS may be starting to get with the program after a very slow start but Congress is doing almost nothing on it's own to protect future elections, to reign in our out of control Article III judges or do anything at all about our staggering debt.
So while Trump and the Executive Branch seems to be the only ones actually doing anything, they remain the ONLY ones that are doing anything. But they can't do it all because they are not Kings or dictators as the Mongol astutely pointed out.
Thanks for playing, Gingis. (Tell me, is that pronounced like jeŋ-gəs, Gen-ghas or Chenŋ-gəs?)
