My uncle was a high level Boeing executive ( VP) and I remember him telling me their airline division made only a fraction of their revenue, $$$ millions….Boeing Aerospace and Defense made $$$billions.

There was talk at the time of Boeing selling off their commercial aircraft division, looks like that option is getting closer.
