Because Jesus did it all - a complete work of redemption (John 19:30) - all one has to do to be saved is call on Him (Romans 10:13). No effort needed beside calling on Him.
And yet because of the flesh, only by God’s grace can anyone even call upon Jesus to be saved (John 6:44).
Salvation, justification, and forgiveness is all of God and not of us (Romans 4:5; Ephesians 2:9).
Thank you Jesus.
There is no more a noble cause than that.
This is the “precious stones” part of the eternal rewards of “gold, silver, and precious stones” Paul spoke of in 1 Corinthians 3:11-15.
Interestingly, “precious stones” (ministering Christ to others) is third in the list of eternal rewards in 1 Corinthians 3:11-15. The first is “gold” which I believe is “knowing him and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death” (Philippians 3:10).
There’s a price to be paid for these eternal rewards, but the PRIZE is worth the PRICE (Philippians 3:12-14).
God bless.
