There seems to be a problem with your arguement:

“Every watt generated is a what you don’t have to burn natural gas for or spin Hydro turbines in Canada.”

Manhattan Contrarian goes to great lengths to explain why this concept is a false argument. Watts generated by solar cannot just supplant other sources, because they cannot deliver the energy when needed.

No. And maybe it’s best that we don’t.

Fortunately when it goes full or mostly battery they need inverters to connect to the AC grid. Hopefully the grid will make sure that it has fail safes against the inverters. So when their communist battery system fails it won’t pull from our grid. Much like spain that recently had it’s battery system fail with blackouts.

First of all this is math on paper which is different from real-world conditions. These calculations are pie-in-the-sky.

Secondly, these calculations don't tell us the cost of constructing this alleged energy utopia, the cost of maintenance, and the cost per KW for individuals which is going to higher than any electricity production we have ever experienced and I have no doubt will continue to increase over time.

Mr. Peltan sounds like one of the people advising the NYS legislature about how simple, easy, and straightforward this transition to all electric will supposedly be. 'All we do is have the resolve to go all electric and everything will fall into place! Believing is achieving!'

That's not how the real world works.

And I’m not interested in saving NY or California. Only interested in making the typical communist ploy of socializing the risk stays in their communist domain and doesn’t bleed into mine.

I’m more concerned that New York may elect Zoran Mamdani as their next Mayor. He appears to be stridently anti Jew in his beliefs and expressions. He’s taking some of the attention from Andrew Cuomo. Cuomo is certainly flawed too but he is not Mayor Addams.

Hochul is certifiable. Only Elise Stephanik can save New York now.

It is possible that the blue counties in the Adirondacks are resort oriented. Counties that are mainly resort areas tend to be liberal. The one county in Wyoming that Kamala Harris carried in 2024 was Teton County, where Yellowstone National Park is located. She carried the county by a 2:1 margin while losing the entire state by over 45 percentage points. Similarly, Summit County, Utah, where the ski resort of Park City is located, was carried by Harris by over 14 percentage points, while she lost the state by over 21 percentage points. While Harris won New Mexico by five percentage points, her margin in Taos County, a resort and skiing area, was almost 48 percentage points.

I am not sure about the Adirondacks. I really didn’t think it was full of rich liberals.

The other spots you mention are full of rich liberals. Park City, Taos, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley are all full of rich liberals.

The other people that live in those towns tend to be ski bums. They work at Park City, Taos, etc so that they can ski for free when they are not working. They tend to be a lot of pot smoking, dred lock haired, hippy types. At least that is what they mostly are up here in New England. They also vote Blue because they probably work part time. Maybe even under the table. Many go on unemployment part of the year.

The plumbers’ union ain’t gonna like this. Like when San Fran’s last city building.

And good thing all those politicians are expert in energy distribution. One relatively small boiler system can heat an entire apartment complex and a one inch gas line can provide cooking and heat. It will be super simple to retrofit all those apartments with miles of new copper cables, electric stoves, electric heaters, electric dryers, electric water heaters, breakers, high voltage trunk lines and transformers.

It will be the true Greek definition of utopia.

Those states who are embracing the climate change cult and seeking the ridiculous goal of carbon neutrality will eventually have their day of reckoning with large scale blackouts. Texas has experienced catastrophic blackouts when weather conditions push demand and the fickle wind turbines were unable to keep up without fossil fuel backup. The recent total blackout in Spain that left the entire Iberian peninsula in the dark was traced to solar farms getting out of sync causing automatic shutdowns. New York will pay the price for their folly and thousands of New Yorkers will be sitting in the dark as a result.

We have some Massholes who moved in and HATE Trump with a passion. N Have signs up, one of which is *Trump = Treason”

It’s SO tempting to go out and white out the *T* in *treason* but he’s probably got security cameras up.

There’s also the Onondaga Res just south of Syracuse.

My suspicion about the Adirondacks is liberals who have summer homes there and don’t hesitate to election cheat and vote in both places.

Tilting at windmills.

Opposing an imaginary foe and then declaring a win and doing a victory dance over it.
