I have been looking at assertions by the left which insist the country is under nationwide martial law based on President Trump's June 7 memorandum. It seemed like standard issue histrionics from the left. The President's memorandum specifies the deployment of the National Guard based on 10 U.S.C. 12406.

Numerous incidents of violence and disorder have recently occurred and threaten to continue in response to the enforcement of Federal law by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other United States Government personnel who are performing Federal functions and supporting the faithful execution of Federal immigration laws. In addition, violent protests threaten the security of and significant damage to Federal immigration detention facilities and other Federal property. To the extent that protests or acts of violence directly inhibit the execution of the laws, they constitute a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.

This doesn't read like the 'nationwide' and 'indefinite' deployment. However, the President and members of his Administration are clearly stating that this is rebellion, insurgency etc.

ransomnote: I can see that the President's use of the National Guard establishes "a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States" is being enacted. John Rich posted about advertisements in Craigslist to hire tough guys for up to $12,500 a week.

ransomnote: The public, along with our enemies, and members of the international community has not been prepared psychologically for our government to address insurrection in the modern age. Getting hit in the face in response to spitting in the faces  of our serviceman or police should not come as a shock to the privileged, paid rioters.

So I saw the post in the OP and can perceive how the groundwork has been laid; if our enemies want to escalate, we will escalate.

ransomnote: I now believe my prior post (April 29) about 6 weeks of planned protests ending in mid-june were simply a staging and recruiting effort; with NGO and USAID monies drying up, our enemies planned in private for quite  May 1st and continuing to the present. THey needed a running start to get their insurrection in place.

June 14 was to have been a 'special day' for the rioters nationwide, but President Trump is already depleting their efforts and I expect our enemies to be very disappointed.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Gavin Newsom squirm on camera; this planned event is not unfolding the way he expected. Suddenly, Newsom is outraged, OUTRAGED, because our  military is sleeping on the floor?

The lives and property lost on 9/11 was trivial compared to the blood and treasure squandered by America when we took the bait. We sacrificed lives, wasted trillions of dollars, and mired ourselves for 20 years in quagmire wars in two places and elsewhere.

Osama bin Laden could not have dreamed that his attack, relatively cheap in lives and dollar costs, would reap so many benefits that are even to this day un-calculable.

The mindless exhortation quoted in italics above would make the likes of Osama bin Laden smile from his well-deserved grave.

This is not the insurrection we have to worry about, we have to worry about mindless reactions like quoted above. If there is to be an insurrection it will happen as and when our sovereign debt crisis crashes the economy and casts millions onto the streets. Today's so-called "insurrection" is the product of a clandestine coterie of agitators who are- if they believed in God-for our government to react as though we are actually in a Civil War.

This is not the insurrection, it is the work small agitators. The public actually supports deportation, at least of criminals, according to the polls. This is not a Civil War, but the agitators and people who offered up this mindless piece of advice, would gladly lead us to.

We are in an age of technology, and we are equipped with RICO laws; both should be utilized to the fullest to penetrate these clandestine groups of agitators and flip them to prosecute the NGOs who fund them. Enhance and prosecute these crimes to federal felonies and impose sentences that will cause these criminals to flip.

Of course, order on the streets has to be maintained but let's keep it in perspective for the TV cameras but actually do something effective offscreen with RICO.

I have considered the chances of Civil War in the US for a long time. Despite the imaginings of war porn fans here and elsewhere, I have always said that the critical elements were missing - which are division in the chain of command such that organized armed forces can fight each other, and also a claim of state sovereignty backed up by a hostile population and powerful state armed forces.

Both of these things are now possible. Not probable, not yet anyway - but certainly possible.
